For those of you who enjoy watching train wrecks -- Boston up 9-0 in the third. Houston playing like Baltimore. Unbelievable. I’ll just let the crash kill whomever it kills…

I’ll just let the crash kill whomever it kills… Rooting for a slow heat death of the universe at this point. From a scientific standpoint, and keeping all Politics out of it, you’ve got a pretty good chance of it happening in a few hundred years. Just take a look at the elliptical orbit of Earth on Google and check out where we are in that orbit. A lot is explained with not much more than a cursory glance. Can the planet survive the apogee? If it can, can Max’s extinction be avoided? We can only do what we can do. Escape to underground? Underwater? Another planet? Maybe we need to create a layer of (false) pollution to block out some light? That’s as far as I can go without crossing the line out of my beloved science and nature and into no man’s land… down the rabbit hole… on the crapper… But this is sh*t I learned in grade school. Actually I started studying this stuff before I could read by flipping encyclopedia pages and looking at pictures.

So just saw the box score on my phone..The Boston idiots are going to win the World Series aren't they? Thanks, Yankees. You couldn't win one more damn game over the last month and have the WC game in New York. Also thank you Nationals for tanking that last game for retirement moments. This close to keeping the bums out.

I see this more as an event that will have an effect on Earth and in so doing may interject impact upon some of our other planets, most of which enjoy a rather consistent orbit now. It’s all very simple, very mechanical and laid out for us to see. No destruction by cow farts. Simple “Who turned up the thermostat? And why won’t the HVAC work any more…

Boston is on fire right now, no doubt about it. But there's still a long way to go. Houston's starting pitchers have been horrific. The only possible good I could see coming out of a Boston championship-- if it comes to that -- is that maybe the Yanks' front office might feel a shred of embarrassment that since the 2004 debacle Boston will have won five rings to the Yankees' one. Although that attitude probably died with The Boss.

Houston's starting pitchers in three games have pitched a combined total of five innings and allowed 12 earned runs.
Kyle Schwarber's grand slam was the first hit of his career on a 3-0 pitch.
Boston has hit 17 home runs in the past six post-season games, which is a record.
Zack Greinke, Houston's starter tonight, has thrown a total of 49 pitches in the past month. He last got an out after the fifth inning on August 23.
The Magic 8 Ball is saying "My sources say no."

Lonn: “Ah think we shud offer a trade to thuh Red Sox. We cud trade the Judge boy for $100,000 and use thuh money to start a play.” Hal: “I’ll take that under advisement. Now go pick up lunch for us and take this $100,000 to pay for it.”

It's getting late early for the Dodgers. Down 5-2 in the fifth after Buehler got hit pretty hard. The Braves are just making a lot of solid contact.

Watching Charlie Morton pitch for the Braves -- it's no wonder it seems like he spans generations. When he broke in with Atlanta in 2008, his manager was Bobby Cox. His teammates included Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Chipper Jones and Julian Tavarez.

Out of the four remaining teams, the Braves to me are the least objectionable. But watching Boston-Houston drove home to me how visceral my hate is for Boston. It pre-dates my dislike of Houston. As usual, it's aimed more at the fans and their media ass-kissers than the actual players, who aren't anywhere near as hateable as The 2004 Idiots. In that case I hated the team and its fans equally.
