Screw the owners man: -MLB revenues have soared from $8.2 billion in 2015 to over $10.7 billion in 2019, a 30 percent increase -Player salaries have decreased by 6.4 percent, with the average salary declining from $4.45 million to $4.17 million during the span of the current CBA. -The median salary has fallen from $1.65 million in 2015 to $ 1.15 million in 2021, a decline of 30 percent. -54 percent of players in MLB are not yet eligible for arbitration, earning near the minimum salary. -13 teams had payrolls under $100 million for the 2021 season. Five teams spent less than $50 million. -Three teams spent less than $17 million on their 26 man major league payroll according to Spotrac. These teams are simply not trying to win. -The Players Association filed a grievance against the A’s, the Pirates, the Marlins, and Rays over how they have invested their revenue-sharing dollars in recent years. The CBA requires “each Club shall use its revenue sharing receipts … in an effort to improve its performance on the field.”
WE totally agree!!!

Well at least minor leagues aren't effected by this so we will have something April 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And our prospects won't lose more development time. Except the ones on the 40 man roster. They won't be able to play.

I’m going to go out in a limb and predict this will flush in the end to be a season of between 120-132 games… why? Just because…

Hmm no you can’t. I only have a 13 game range. How come you get 21 games? Oh well, keep the 21 games. I’ll put up empty bags of what ever I want to eat…

True, true. I established my own parameters. With the reduced number of games, should I wind up to be correct, would make me feel more intelligent for having actually come up with a number within tight parameters. Or… conversely, I could claim to have inside information provided by my doorman who has a friend at ESPN who cannot share his name with us for fear of losing his job, (ie, a frigging idiot). God I miss TMarino right now… Maybe I should make a fake ID and try to do an imitation account. I just need an avatar: Seasonticketholder50? How about A.NotherMarino? SonOfTom? Yankee54/b? I’ll work on that…

Sigh, what are they doing to this great game? The regular season is going to become meaningless, like the NBA & NHL.

Sigh, what are they doing to this great game? The regular season is going to become meaningless, like the NBA & NHL. While I agree in principal with your “What are they doing to this great game”, I personally suggested this idea on this very forum in 2020 when the playoffs were expanded. My thinking was that division winners could be rewarded for having won the division by giving them a one game lead to start a short series versus a wild card winning team. I never thought of the childish term “ghost win”, and I’m glad that term did not originate in my brain. I’d be ashamed if it had. If you view it this way, I think it differentiates MLB from Hockey and Basketball by giving the division winners an advantage…
