Everyone is slipping in the batter's box for some reason. Our old friend Paul O'Neill picked up on it - turf shoes with plastic spikes, instead of what they normally wear on grass. |

Hey guys! Looking good so far. Can you believe this team so far?
It's amazing. Manoah has been great against the Yanks and Hicks is one of the worst hitters ever with the bases loaded, so of course Hicksie has a bases clearing double in this one. |

By the way, Dave Stieb pitched Toronto's first no hitter in their history; however, he had lost four no hitters in the ninth inning prior to making Blue Jays' history.

My boy Trevino has cooled off from his Thurman Munson impression. Still like what he brings to the table, but the Yankees need another Hall of Fame quality catcher after so many great ones in Wally Schang, Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Thurman Munson, Jorge Posada - even Mike Stanley was in the tradition with the bat and not a slouch behind the plate - though he wasn't a home grown quantity.
At one point, Gary Sánchez was one of four catchers with multiple 30-homer seasons prior to age 27, along with Johnny Bench, Mike Piazza and Rudy York. Freaking Sandwich.

Holmes does the job in the eighth with another ground out - this one to LeMahieu who sneaked in and took over at third for Carpenter when I wasn't paying attention.
