My boy Trevino has cooled off from his Thurman Munson impression. Still like what he brings to the table, but the Yankees need another Hall of Fame quality catcher after so many great ones in Wally Schang, Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Thurman Munson, Jorge Posada - even Mike Stanley was in the tradition with the bat and not a slouch behind the plate - though he wasn't a home grown quantity. At one point, Gary Sánchez was one of four catchers with multiple 30-homer seasons prior to age 27, along with Johnny Bench, Mike Piazza and Rudy York. Freaking Sandwich. You forgot Ron Hassey.  |

Holmes does the job in the eighth with another ground out - this one to LeMahieu who sneaked in and took over at third for Carpenter when I wasn't paying attention. Holmes takes the drama out of everything, a great thing for Yankee fans. |

Unbelievable, Kay just stated that was the first bases loaded hit for Hicks since 2017.  That seems almost impossible. I think he said bases loaded extra base hit. That’s still pretty incredible, but not quite as bad… |

Why is a team called the Blue Jays wearing red uniforms? Do the Cardinals wear blue unis some days? ![]() Weird front office types. I had to wear red uniforms in high school - never cared for that color. I preferred our home whites with red numbers and red trim. |

That seems almost impossible. I think he said bases loaded extra base hit. That’s still pretty incredible, but not quite as bad… I guess I misheard. Hicks had only seven hits in his career with the bases loaded coming into this game, two doubles and five singles for a line of .125/.299/.161/.459. |
