Dang. Fell asleep again. Those couches were definitely crushers. And the sun was out and almost 90 degrees at the time. It’s cooled off a bunch. Going to a cookout…

Abandon hope all who face Clay Holmes. Nine in a row. HOLMES! You've done it again! Watson ejaculated. “Magoo, you’ve done it again”, said Magoo as he ejaculated…

Oh man, that's great, but I hate seeing any record of Mo's broken.

49-16 after 65 games is exactly the record the Yankees had in 1998. The Yankees then lost their next game to go 49-17. With a sweep tomorrow, the Yankees could take a lead over the 1998 team's pace. Incredible!

Eclipsing Mariano Rivera in any category is amazing in and of itself. The Summer of Holmes!

I feel sorry for all those Yankee fans who thrive on complaints, losses, and general misanthropy.
It's the time of the season to be Yankees
do, do, do, choo, ka, aah do, do, do, choo, ka, aah
What's you name (what's your name) Who's your daddy (who's your daddy) (He rich) Is he rich like me? Has he taken (has he taken) anytime (anytime) to show (to show) you what you need to live?
(Tell it to me slowly) Tell you what (I really want to know) It's the time of the season for Yankees!

We shan't name names. But what an unbelievable season. "Time Of The Season" by The Zombies was written by their keyboardist Rod Argent who later had success with "Hold Your Head Up" performing as the band Argent. It was one of three big US hits for The Zombies, the others being "She's Not There" and "Tell Her No." The Zombies actually disbanded after recording "Time Of The Season" but before it was released. When it proved to be a huge hit, the record company tried to get them back together to tour, but being musicians they refused.

Trivia Answer: Stieb, Key, Guzman, Clemens, Sanchez, Ray Robbie Ray was just last season - should have known that one. Juan Guzman won the ERA title the year Hentgen won the Cy Young Award in 1996. Never would have thought about Guzman. Forgotten man to me. Aaron Sanchez escapes me, also. Kaseeb, you are too young to remember Dave Stieb, but he was nasty. Killer slider, and he was tough on the Yankees. I'd take him over every pitcher on that list. Dave Stieb was one tough palooka. Seven-time All Star and the second-winningest pitcher in the decade of the 1980s behind Jack Morris. One of the first Blue Jay stars.

If memory serves their's was a live concert version. About 12 years after The Zombies recorded the original. Also written by Rod Argent. Carlos was another great performer. One of my favorites by him was "I'm Winning" from I believe the early 80s.
