Does anyone remember the television ads for Underwood Deviled Ham? Can't say I do Rizz. I do remember ads for Oscar Meyer Sandwich Spread, which is a step down from Deviled Ham. Found one. When I was a little kid, I always thought only rich people ate things from a can. With farm animals, hunting, fishing, farming, and gardening we always had fresh meat, vegetables, fruit - almost never any cans unless it was pork and beans.

They've had others I didn't care for -- Tom Seaver and John Sterling come to mind -- but Beltran is the first one who I thought had no business in a professional broadcast booth. He's horrible and everyone knows it. At least he's a man of character. Oh wait....

For most of the season, the same 4 or 5 hitters have carried the dead weight of Hicks, Donaldson, Gallo and IKF, but it's starting to wear on them. It seems like one of these guys is always up in a big spot. Once in a while they'll come through but its like 1 or 2 out of 10 times at best. Team is def better this year, but.. Still hit into too many DPS. Still have tendency to score 1-2 runs. Still a little too dependent on the top half of the order.

That kid gave me the heeby-jeebies. No cans of Campbell's Soup?

For such a sharp, alert player, he had little of interest to say in the booth.

My father used to make gallons of vegetable soup, pea soup, gumbo, etc. and freeze Tupperware for those days when other people might eat something from a can.

Hard to believe the Yankees have 9 hits. Some surprising stats... Well lets start out with the non surprising one which is the Yankees lead MLB in home runs, walks & runs. However... 23rd in hits 27th in doubles 29th in triples
