Hey guys. My grandmother is in the ICU in Bangladesh (bless her heart, shes 93!). I have to be with my mom before she leaves for Dhaka tomorrow. So I may be a little sparse on the forum for the next day or so. Hold down the fort for me!

I can't believe they used to allow people to run on the field.

Matt Carpenter is on a pace that would yield 60 home runs over a full season. And he's still trailing Judge. Still hitting 7th too.

I can't believe they used to allow people to run on the field. I don't think they were actually allowed. They just overwhelmed security. Yankee Stadium in the 1970s was a lawless place. It was not at all unusual to see people clearly out of their minds with drugs in the stands. NYC in general was out of control. It's only recently that it's started moving back in that direction.

The Yanks won't have to face Julio Rodriguez in the upcoming series. Although I assume they will have to face Luis Castillo.

Exactamundo! New York City is Disneyland compared to the 1970s. The Big Apple was a pretty seedy place. "I'm walking here!" (For those "Midnight Cowboy" fans). For Yankee fans, that Chris Chambliss home run was a catharsis. As a kid, the Yankees had never been to the playoffs in my lifetime. There were no wildcards, the division had to be won. It was a glorious feeling!

Well, I fell asleep as soon as the game started, but it doesn't appear I have missed much, which is the veritable and proverbial par for one of Monty's starts. Ugh, bases loaded no one out. Monty's in trouble. Melendez with a dying quail single in front of Judge. Didn't Melendez kill his parents?

OF shift fail just cost the Yankees big time.

Nothing like a baseball feel-good story.
