Interesting times for Cashman, I think we know the answer but he can't be thrilled how any facet of his club is working lately. He won't panic, perhaps to a fault, but lots to discuss about the current roster.

Totally agree it's weird like obviously the team has been in kind of a bad stretch but bad for this team still came out to 15-15 so if .500 is considered bad I guess the team is still pretty good? I do feel they still are miles better than pretty much every team in the AL. The biggest issue is Houston which to compete with them you need to match their pitching and I don't think the Yankees can match that with the roster as it is right now. 15-15 is bad for a team being compared to the 98 team. It may have been that was an unrealistic comparison

15-15 is bad for a team being compared to the 98 team. It may have been that was an unrealistic comparison I think the 98 team comparssions were a little much. This is prob about a 105 win team which is still great but not 114-116 wins. 69-34 59 games to go so 36-23 for 105 wins 31-28 for 100. This team should fall in about that range. It may have been that was an unrealistic comparison I do not believe this 2022 Yankee team is nearly as deep or as talented all-around as the 1998 team; however, the 1998 Yankees went 18-19 from August 15 to September 21. Things like that happen over a 162 game season, especially when you lose two of the best late inning relievers in the game for the season in Chad Green and Michael King, not to mention Jonathan Loaisiga and Severino from the rotation.
