RIZZO!!! Always with the big hit. He just changes this team in multiple directions even when he was slumping a bit he seemed to get the timely hits at least.

Once again, all we need to do is get Montgomery out of the game and the runs begin to flow.

We cannot afford two Gallo-like offensive holes. Luckily, both provide excellent defense, unlike a Chris Davis. Dunno if you saw the pre-game, but Curry was ripping him pretty hard saying if anyone has to see the bench when Stanton returns its Donaldson. You just can't sit Carpenter again today 2 more hits.

Well that ends Marinaccio's streak. Dozier has always been annoyed back from his Twins days.

The degrees of separation is always fascinating to me! My friend Joe often talked about Ted Lyons, who was unknown to me before those conversations. You used to call in to sports' talk shows, too? I once got to speak with Michael Kay on a radio show many, many years ago. He dismissed my comments outright (probably because I was calling from California), only to mention my very points on a broadcast a couple days later. He seems to have mellowed since then. Do you remember when he first was in the television booth, he used to lambast the Yankees' players on the field and the organization? Of course, this was the early 1990s, before Derek Jeter. Kay stealing your stuff? Well I never..... Seriously, I agree that he's mellowed a bit, although he doesn't hesitate to criticize the team when it's deserved. Which I hold in his favor. When he started out on radio with Sterling I found him a welcome counterpoint. In general I think he's a very good broadcaster, although he clearly rubs some people the wrong way. I think he interacts well with his colleagues and makes them better. It's been a long time since I called a sports show. The last time I remember doing it was in the early 1970s when I used to call Guy Mainella on WBZ in Boston mainly to talk Celtics basketball and Bruins hockey. But as a kid I was always calling radio talk shows and disc jockeys. As a teenager I used to actually visit local stations to watch them at work. Mostly they were fine with it if you had a sincere interest. I have always loved radio and felt at home with people in the industry. Right now is a very dark age for the business, although there are plenty of people making money off of it. Radio (music) has become a 24-hour infomercial of various products, interspersed with similar sounding noise referred to as songs. It is sad, because expert disk jockeys could really expand one's taste and love for music. Now, it's all algorithms and sales. I agree about Kay being a needed counterpoint to Sterling, who let's face it is milquetoast in a blazer. In my opinion, Kay became less caustic - unnecessarily so that is - when he began working with ball players like his hero Bobby Murcer, Jim Kaat, and Ken Singleton. I think he began learning more about the game from an athlete's standpoint. With Paul O'Neill, Kay has learned self-deprecation and not to take himself so seriously, to be one of the boys. He also has so many other paid outlets for his opinion now, he can just enjoy the game with the fans, unless something obviously should be addressed, which is unafraid to do. My brother used to call into a New Orleans' sports radio talk show, he became somewhat of a recurring character, even given a special number to avoid waiting in line. That is until he created a character masquerading as "The Mayor" of our named home town (Gueydan, Louisiana) and was threatened with a law suit.

Tough at bat from Melendez. Marinaccio not as sharp as we have grown accustomed.

Did you hear Kay's factoid there? Royals' pitcher Taylor Clarke married a woman named Taylor Clarke. I guess we know what they will name their first child.
