It's good many of these issues cropped up just before the trade deadline. At least there's a chance to address them. Picking up Montas or Rodon would be huge, if Hal/Cash are willing to pay the price. Who would you prefer, Mothra or Rodan? Didn't someone just post a statistic today or yesterday that Rodon was having trouble putting batters away with two strikes?

I'm stunned that Judge leads the AL in hits. Wow, he caught Devers? Amazing!

Well, the Yankees get right back into it as soon as Jordan Montgomery is removed from the game. "We will sell no wine before its time."

The love child of Dan Pasqua and Tino Martinez at the plate.

That Rodon two strike stat is puzzling since he has great strike out stuff. That's a good question, give me one of them because our rotation needs some help.

Trivia: Since 1950, three players have lead the league in home runs and hits: Yaz, Rice, and Dante Bichette.

This a paper cut game because Yankee pitchers have been hurt by a lot of soft contact.

It seems to me that Volpe is off the table for Cashman. Cashman is still probably not inclined to give up both Volpe and Peraza for anyone but Soto (as well as three other top prospects), when he must know Hal will not sign him ultimately. In fact, Cashman may expect the Yankees will not sign Soto or Judge long term to contracts that will come in the 360 million dollar range for Judge and 500 million for Soto.

Isn't this the second straight season Monty has had trouble getting support? Not that he was as talented as Monty, but I remember Ted Lilly was a pitcher for whom the Yankees invariably played poorly. There was something about his sad sack demeanor that brought out the worst in the team. It is the second straight season! I always liked Ted Lilly, who went to Fresno City College, not far away from Fresno State University, Aaron Judge's alma mater. I thought he was a bulldog, but he also never benefited from run support or great defense when needed. Do you remember or rather know of Ted Lyons? Louisiana boy with a long Hall of Fame career, missing three years to WWII after like 20 years of MLB. Jimmy Dykes was a Philly boy who had a long career as a player and manager. As a gruff old man in the 1960s he had a sports talk show on WCAU in Philly. He managed Ted Lyons in the 1930s and 1940s. He spoke lovingly about Lyons all the time. Lyons pitched on mostly bad White Sox teams in his long career and still won 260 games. Jimmy Dykes often said Lyons would have won well over 300 games with better teams. I know he was much loved in Chicago. I used to call Jimmy Dykes' show as a kid. His voice made him sound like he would bite your head off, but he was a kind and patient man who indulged the many young kids who phoned him.
