They make a decent root beer, too…

The most logical thing would be they made a deal for another pitcher not announced yet and they need to get roster space. But that seems unlikely this late.

That's what some excited Yankees fans on Twitter thought was going to happen. Maybe Lopez from Florida or Rondon from San Fran, but neither one of those pitchers got traded. Turns out that Cashman just sold low on Monty.

He'll get a lot of opportunities to show his stuff chasing down rockets behind Taillon and German.

We'll see. But he'd better be an upgrade over Hicks. Rivers was pretty good, so was Bernie. Paul Blair came off the bench for defense. Gardy in his prime was fun to watch defensively. Judge has been fundamentally solid in centerfield. What kind of arm does this Harrison Bader have?

We still haven't won a game this season without Joey Gallo in Pinstripes.

Yeah, it was a bit presumptuous for that guy to vault Bader to the top of the heap among Yankee CFers. I hear Joe D. did a pretty fair job patrolling out there too. If he's as good as Blair or even Judge for that matter I'd be happy.

Joe told me that Mantle just outran baseballs, but DiMaggio seemed to magically be able to get to balls without ever diving. DiMaggio was 6'2" with the legs of someone much taller and evidently was as brilliant at getting jumps as anyone who ever played. To believe the real estate covered in center and the real Death Valley.

To believe the real estate covered in center and the real Death Valley. I've heard the same from eyewitnesses, Rizz. They would invariably remark on Joe taking off at the crack of the bat and being perfectly positioned to catch the ball. Supposedly Joe never made a diving catch because he never needed to. I didn't see Mick before his mid-twenties and he was jaw-droppingly fast. But supposedly he was even faster when he first came up before tearing up his knee in the outfield drainage pipe in the 1951 World Series. He was fast enough for me in any event!

who did Monty pi$$ off? Tall, LH starter with a shown ability to pitch in a really tough division gone for a CF that is attributed to be a "defensive star". Our CF defense was not a problem. How does this make the Yankees better? Is Bader potentially better than we think?
