Jordan Montgomery’s fiancée shows off Yankee Stadium engagement pics before trade
Talk about timing. The fiancée of MLB pitcher Jordan Montgomery showed off the couple’s Yankee Stadium engagement shoot Friday on Instagram — days before the Bombers dealt him to the Cardinals ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Monty's been in the Yankee system for eight years. For someone his age, that seems like a lifetime. For guys like me, eight years reminds me I probably need to buy new underwear. Sarah had a way of quietly disposing of old tee shirts, underwear, etc. without my knowledge. Girls just do not understand the comfort of a well-worn cotton garment.

My take on this trade is that Cashman got played. He thought he had a deal with the Marlins for Lopez and pulled the string too early with the Reds.

yeah I saw those but did not betray inger. This was a strange trade from a normally risk adverse Cashman. Thank you, my friend! … No problem I think this trade is simple. They decided that they got someone who would help them in the play offs and did not consider at all anything else. By their logic the person they traded would not help there and the player they got would. 1-0 =0. Of course Montgomery might be the difference in if we have home field in the play offs, which matters and which they did not consider.

Jordon has not given up a run in his two starts. He shut us down and then Milwaukee. Bader better be an all star (once healthy.)
I'm still leaning towards TERRIBLE move and it seems most of us agree.

Bader is a outstanding defensive CF, that's it. If your expected him to be better or equal to let's say Gardner for example with the bat try again. Better than Hicks currently, for sure. Cashman gave away a top LH SP for a broke OF.

I'll pull like hell for Bader, if he comes back, but he is a career .246 hitter with an on base percentage of .320. Is he supposed to be the difference maker when we get into the post season? INMHO one of the worst trades ever!

I know it is not his trade but it happens in the post season, so we could do it now. Like last nights game, we wouldn't have to deal with Chapman, etc.

And he just keeps on keeping on. Montgomery's 3rd start - 6.2 IP, 8K's and 1 earned run.
If we wanted defense in CF, don't do it at the cost of a starting pitcher and perhaps just let Florial run around out there since neither can hit great, though Florial is most likely a better hitter.

We gave up too much, A-man… 😂😂😂😂 Actually, I’m glad we have Bader. Montgomery was a high price to pay. Cash is confessing that Hicks is no longer a starting CF on the defensive side. The offensive side was obvious. For anyone hoping Bader will become a better hitter…It really doesn’t matter. Nice if he does, but you MUST play that middle gardener position with an emphasis on defense…

Latest start, 9 innings and 1 hit given up, no runs. In 4 starts Montgomery has given up 1 run. 26 innings pitched, 13 hits given up, .35 ERA
Go Bader? Montas??? Thanks Cash
