Just checked, on July 8, the Yankees were 38 games above .500. Hard to believe.

Hmm, maybe so. A lot of weird things came around with Covid. I never liked the concept anyway. For many years the trade deadline was June 15, which to me was preferable because it discouraged more teams from selling off their players. Yep, no more waiver trades allowed. Manfred! Thanks Maize. Well there goes that avenue of escape. I swear, Manfred has changed more rules than any Commissioner since Kenesaw Mountain Landis.

I know it doesn't pass the eye test, but this team is good at winning series and not making long losing streaks happen.. They've only lose 6 series all a year (@bal, @hou 2 games, @nym 2 games, vs CWS (1 game was DH), vs CIN, vs SEA) and haven't lost more than 3 games in a row all season. It's still a good team, but so frustrating to watch at times.

Higgy raised his BA to .197, closing in on the Mendoza line and away from the Gallo trench.

Who would have thought Nestor would be the best pitcher on this team? 2.5 something ERA in August.

Cole is such a head case. He is acting like Adam Frazier is a baseball god and is still talking about White Merrifield 5 days later. Like get over it he's in Toronto now so you will be seeing him again.

Adam Frazier and his .623 OPS baseball god.

According to the chart, Cole's peripherials are actually much better than expected. His strikeout to walk ratio is fantastic. The BABIP is the culprit along with runners stranded.

Adam Frazier and his .623 OPS baseball god. And on base six times the last two games.

Joey Gallo would be ashamed and refuse to go out on the streets.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that our record over the last 7 games reflects the fact that Hicks, Torres, and Benitendi are 5 for 71 over that time. That has to change. Starting pitching has suffered as well. Come back Montgomery.

W/o their two best hitters. Yanks pitching has taken a serious nosedive and much of the lineup isn't far away. Yes, but think how rested Judge will be during the off season - the true genius of the Yankee braintrust. Rested to consider offers from other teams…
