Such a great pleasure to see the Jays massive choke job in Vladdy's house. You just knew their bullpen would implode some time in the playoffs. Let's hope the M's can give the Astros all they can handle. In the Guardians and Rays game, I noticed there were 39 K's, including one guy on each team who struck out 5 times. Too bad the Pads couldn't close out the Mets. Maybe today. Hated to see the Cards lose. The Phillies might be one of those underdog teams that goes a long way in the playoffs. Mets losing yesterday would have been icing on the cake but blue jays blowing an 8-1 lead was pretty hilarious. Let’s see what happens today with Mets/padres with the battle of the former As pitchers.

The Cardinals had one or two of those years, where they kind of ran the table as underdogs every series.

He should be pretty happy right now that the Mets have been eliminated.

Classic Showalter and classic Mets behavior right there.
For anyone who didn't watch the game:
"An odd moment came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Mets manager Buck Showalter requested a substance check on Musgrove as pictures circulated online of one of the pitcher's ears appearing to shine. Umpires subsequently dug their fingers inside and around the ear but did not find anything violating rules."

He should be pretty happy right now that the Mets have been eliminated. They deserved it after trash talking the Yankees for "collapsing" which never happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Props to Cohen for calling out Buck on that. "Stunt" is the right word. When a manager does something like that and gets it wrong, there should be a penalty, at minimum an ejection or maybe even have your next batter called out. What a farce that was.

Good to see the Mets get crushed. Made me thought of something I saw last Friday. I live across the street from the University of Vermont and as I was pulling out of my driveway I saw a student walking to class wearing a Mets hat, and suit of Met logos all over the jacket and pants. My first thought was, "now there's a guy who's never going to get laid in college". I wonder if he cried himself to sleep last night?

You can bet the Met fans would be brazenly obnoxious had this befallen the Yankees. I remember in 2004 the Met faithful acting like auxiliary Boston fans, as if THEY had actually won something. Interesting that you live right across from the U of V. The Catamounts! They always had a crew entry at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philly and the Head Of The Charles in Boston. Lake Champlain is a beautiful place to practice for those fours and eights.

Costas and Darling with the call. We could have fared worse. Darling is smart, but as you would expect from a former Met not generally supportive of the Yankees, although a little more subtle than Smoltz. Costas is good unless he starts getting full of himself. But he likes the Yankees.
