FWIW there hasn't been any coverage of Judge contracts on the NYC local news stuff. TODAY THOUGH this report was on all the NYC local news stations etc so I feel there is some more validity to all this than all the other reports? Passan is always gold though so I trust the guy. Still can't believe Yahoo let him go.

Best media discussion of the Judge situation I’ve heard. The one point they missed is that Judge was actually born a Giants fan before he was reborn in baseball as a Yankee. I still feel the board is tilted in the Yankees favor, but I don’t trust the Dodgers nor a couple other teams that may be creeping around in the shadows. Rather than saying it’s 50/50 between the Yanks and Giants, I feel more like it’s Yankees 45%, Giants 30%, and a blind-side effort else where for the remaining 25%… give or take…

DID Yanks Low Ball Judge again?
Yankees again lowball Aaron Judge, but what does it mean?

I’d love to be low-balled with a $37.5M Per year contract for the next 8 years…

Yea something doesn't add up here... We have no news of the giants offer AT ALL. Passan who usually correct says advantage Yankees, but now Morosi comes out still no numbers of what the Giants are offering and calls it 50-50? This sounds like a show trying to make the Yankees look bad I agree Chi.

Remember Judge wants all negotiations to be keep private so maybe everyone is adhering to his request.

I have a feeling Hal wants Judge more than Cash. If only Hal didn't want Cash.

We’ve seen this before with A-Rod and probably Jeter, too…

We’ve seen this before with A-Rod and probably Jeter, too… There was no chase for Jeter because he made it clear prior to negotiations that he was not going to entertain any offers from other teams and would never play anywhere else but the Yankees, essentially remove all leverage from his negotiations. The only thing he asked was that the process be kept out of the press. Cashman, of course, made it public for no reason. The Yankees extended A-Rod's contract before it ended. A-Rod had an opt out clause. Cashman gambled on not extending Judge and lost. Cashman is a prick when it comes to people. I believe he really thinks he's responsible for the Yankees' World Series championships from 1998 to 2009.
