Andre Dawson is the only outfielder to hit two HR in one inning twice in his career. 30-Jul-1978, 3rd inning + 24-Sep-1985, 5th inning. Career HRs #36, 37, 202, 203… Fernando Tatis hit two grand slams in the same inning. Not a feat that is likely to ever be repeated. Probably the safest record in baseball history. I actually saw that inning... Amusingly it was off the same pitcher which I had forgotten.

It think it’s more likely that the hitting portion, 2 grand slams in one inning might get tied than the pitching record of allowing two grand slams in an inning. Breaking the record? Well, nothing is impossible I suppose. But I really doubt any pitcher would be allowed to serve up a third… What’s got you so busy this year Russ? Top secret government bean counting project directly for Mr. DeSantis?…

Top secret government bean counting project directly for Mr. DeSantis?… I have to process all the sympathy notes for Stanton..... I play war games a lot these days. They take up most of my evenings. I am sure no one will ever hit 3 (or for that matter 2) grand slams in an inning again. The real question is why you would allow a pitcher who gave up a grand slam and then put three more runners on base to pitch to the guys he already gave up another grand slam to. Maybe the manager was ordering lunch.

Lots of safe pitching records due to the way todays game is played… many new ones to come for relievers…

Besides Young's pitching marks, Yankees "Happy Jack" Chesbro's 1904 AL season won't be duplicated again: a 41-12 record and 239 strikeouts, with a league leading 1.82 ERA, with 455 innings pitched in 55 games.

What's the most career stolen bases by an MLB player whose career stolen base success rate was less than 50%? I’m actually surprised that the top of the list is this low. I was expecting something around 100.
Here’s the top 10, with # of SB and success rate:
Tom Brunansky, 69, 49.6% Nellie Fox, 69, 47.9% Chet Lemon, 58, 43.3% Manny Trillo, 56, 49.6% Buddy Bell, 55, 41.0% Duane Kuiper, 52, 42.3% Tim Wallach, 51, 43.6% Charlie Moore, 51, 47.2% Jay Johnstone, 50, 48.1% Ernie Banks, 50, 48.5%
Freaky fact: 8 of the 10 (Fox and Banks are the exception) were all active between 1981 and 1985…
Lou Gehrig just missed this list with 102 steals and 102 CS… 50 %…

More runs scored and/or SB in a career:
Allan Lewis. He played in 97 games for the KC/Oakland A’s between 1967–70, then 59 more in 1972–73. He had a total of 29 AB, 47 runs scored and 44 stolen bases.
The seven other players to do it are
Don Hopkins, played for the A’s in 1975–76, 6 AB, 25 R, 21 SB
Yefri Pérez, played for the Marlins in 2016, 3 AB, 5 R, 4 SB
Rico Noel, played for the Astros in 2015, 2 AB, 5 R, 5 SB
Herb Washington (the obvious answer), who played for the A’s in 1974–75, with 33 R and 31 SB and 0 AB
Earl Pruess, played for the St. Louis Browns in 1920, 0 AB, 1 R, 1 SB (1 PA - he walked)
Charlie Faust, played for the 1911 Giants, 0 AB, 1 R, 2 SB
Farmer Burns, played for the 1901 Cardinals, 0 AB, 1 R, 1 SB (also walked in 1 PA)
Both Pruess and Burns did it in the only major league game they ever played. Faust got into 2 games...

br]I was looking into immaculate innings last night and stumbled across this wacky line on Wikipedia:
“Just one game has seen two pitchers throw immaculate innings: on June 15, 2022, Phil Maton and Luis Garcia of the Houston Astros struck out the same three Texas Rangers batters in the second and seventh innings respectively.”…

On August 4th, 1985 Tom Seaver won his 300th game, and infielder Rod Carew got his 3,000th hit.
In 1967 they both won rookie of the year, as well, making it even more coincidental in 1985...
