Good for him. A whipping boy for some...played whatever roll he was asked to with Yanks...never complained. He’s a good little player, but a third baseman with a SS bat. In his first year in the Yankee uni it’s likely the shift to SS affected his bat. Last year he was shifted to the OF. Found himself in CF of all places. Hopefully his new team sees him as a 3B. If he can settle back in I believe he can still be an asset with his glove and legs, and hit enough to hold the position…

Davis Schneider has shown some pop in relatively few ABs, and Jays still have Cavan Biggio. It'll be interesting to see how they use IKF.

I still think pivoting to Bellinger with that money earmarked for Yoshi might be the best course of action. Judge/Rizzo/Stanton/Dominguez all have availability concerns for me. Rizzo/Soto/Verdugo are all free agents after the year. Torres isn't directly impacted by Bellinger but that's another potential loss next offseason who's a big part of the offense. I don't see anyone in our system beating the door down for the future first base job. Bellinger adds another good bat with defensive versatility to where you've got a lot of bases covered. There's a lot of potential flux in the lineup over these next few seasons and Bellinger's flexibility gives you some freedom to pivot to different combos. Bellinger would give the Yankees OF insurance if Soto doesn't re-sign with them. If Soto stays with the Yankees Bellinger could move to 1B. But I'm not sure if the Yankees are going to spend what it's going to cost to sign him since they still have to address their pitching, and still have to try to re-sign Soto, and maybe Gleyber too.
On another note: It would be nice to see some of the players mentioned defer money like Ohtani did. If they did, in my opinion, there's no reason why the Yankees couldn't re-sign Soto and Torres.

Absolutely would take him back. He's older, wiser, playoff tested, and he now knows Cashman is full of $#!&. Pitch on your terms like you believe in yourself and not blindly follow Blake and Cashman.

Hey Max. Were you a fan back in the 1980s? They never won a championship. There was a reason for that. They had insufficient pitching. The lineup basically had an all star at every position and quite often the scores were like softball games. Henderson, Mattingly, Winfield, Baylor, Griffey, Randolph, jack Clark, Steve Kemp and so on. Boy could they score runs but the pitching was not good. Game has not changed, you need both to win and right now the staff is lacking 2 starters IMO.

Translation:
Source: Blue Jays, Red Sox and Pirates are evaluating Cuban pitcher Yariel Rodríguez as a starter, who prefers to start over relieve. Other clubs, including the Yankees, Reds and Padres, view him as a late-inning pitcher.

Yep, those Yankee teams you mentioned needed pitching, and they also traded away some of their good pitching prospects like Drabek. In my opinion, the Yankees need 2 starters and a Closer. One of those starters should be a number 1A starter or a number 2 starter. I would like for the Yankees to have a Big 3 for any post season series that they might play in.

Could be a bargain for the Red Sox if he gets himself figured out.
