That is true but the real question is will the regression of the o’s and the uptick of the yankees still more than make up the 19 game difference between them last season?

They were +7 in the pythagorean last year, the Yankees were +4 despite a rash of injuries and underperformance. That's gonna be a lot of ground to make up. It will take bounce back years from Rizzo, Rodon, Cortez, a healthy Judge and getting something of value from Stanton to even have hope. Not impossible, especially with the addition of Soto, but certainly a tall order.

As Arizona showed last year, you don't have to win your division to win the World Series. The D-Backs finished 16 games behind L.A., do you think anyone in Arizona cares about that now?

No they only care that they lost the ws . But can you confidently say that the yankees are really good enough to get to the ws ?

If that team could play that even to them the team now with Soto on it def has a chance to beat them in a playoff series. I don't think it's that impossible. Last years team half the lineup was AAAAA players that was fixed this off season.

Still thin in the rotation and the bullpen is mostly question marks

Burnes is an elite starter but the rest of the orioles rotation and bullpen the Yankees have hit all those guys historically plus we dunno if burnes will have adjustment issues switching leagues Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Rays can literally trade away their top players and while they haven't had much playoff success they usually at least make it there. The Red Sox seem to get these years where they are either bad or amazing and nothing in between. The jays and Yankees are both stuck in the same pattern lots of potential but everything that could go wrong always does and they fall short of a World Series or no playoffs at all. Once every 5-6 years or so the Red Sox are World Series contenders then fall off a cliff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
