Strange, 3 of the 4 teams have identical 90-72 regular season records. Didn't a very wise man say that "the playoffs are a crapshoot"? This is why I don't buy into the crap of "The Yankees are years away. 2024 is a wash!" Obviously they need some changes this off season, but the rest of the AL top teams aren't powerhouses that can't be beat.

The World Series favorite Braves knocked out in the divisional round. 😮 Phillies advance to the ALCS. You supporting the Phillies pippsheadache ? Hey Kaybli, yeah, it won't be anything like if the Yankees were playing, but within the confines of the NL I pull for the Phillies, if only to have fans around here talking about something other than the damned Eagles, who I never pull for under any conditions. I can't watch a sporting event without at least mildly rooting for someone. Or just as often against someone. If I didn't have any interest, I just wouldn't watch at all. Up until interleague play I always rooted for the AL team in the World Series. Even Boston when they played the Mets. Of course there wasn't the level of hate for Boston back then, at least not for me. That didn't really kick in until 2004, and now it's in my DNA. Interleague play plus free agency plus general deterioration of the give-a-damn meter has watered down league loyalty. But when I was growing up, there were definitely American League people and National League people, and the All Star Game was a very big deal. How about you? Any rooting interest other than anyone but the Astros? Which is legitimate enough IMO. I've watched 2 innings of this entire post season the last two to watch the Braves get eliminated. Totally agree with the bolded statement. Annoys me how meh all these teams have looked mostly in the AL and how the Yankees did nothing to take advantage of this at the trade deadline to give them a better chance of getting in. I def feel they could have got to 89 wins if they took the trade deadline a bit more seriously. Also shows how little depth a lot of these teams have that they get exposed in the post season by teams with less wins than them.

From ESPN.com "Reggie Jackson, the original, hit 18 home runs in 77 career postseason games. Harper, with three so far in 2023, has 14 in 42 postseason games. Indeed, out of 192 players with at least 150 career postseason plate appearances, Harper ranks fifth in OPS at 1.017, putting him near the top of a leaderboard featuring names like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, George Brett and Carlos Beltran." So glad we saved money by not signing Bryce Harper. Yep. Not only that, Harper was largely responsible for getting his pals Trea Turner and JT Realmuto to sign with the Phillies. Think the Yankees could have used those guys over the past few years?

Think the Yankees could have used those guys over the past few years? All of those guys are gamers, too. There is no situation too big for them offensively. Turner is the most underrated player in MLB with a career OPS of .832 at shortstop, and he can play second and centerfield. That would have solved our catching, centerfield, and left field problems quite nicely.

Inger's boy does the job and the Rangers go up 1-0 on the Asterisks.

I’m very fickle. LeClerc was my older child, actually born after Gardner. He was my first… Locastro? Oh, little Timmy. My bastard child. He’s out of the will for not achieving in NY. Actually, not achieving anywhere the little ingrate… I’d cut him off financially if he didn’t make more money than I do. I still send him his 38 cents per week allowance even though we no longer talk…
