Hi Inger, I hope that you're feeling better.
Some YES posters might remember that when the off season started I had a wish list of players that I wanted the Yankees to acquire...
Soto or Bellinger Yamamoto Hader
We'll see what happens. As Meatloaf sang..."2 out of 3 ain't bad."
I rather see the money spent on starting pitching because we need some healthy arms in the starting rotation. ClipperI know what you're saying Clipper, but the cost of starting pitching is high. According to some in the media, Snell turned down the Yankees offer, and the Brewers and WSox want top prospects for Burnes and Cease.

It is hard to believe that Gleybor Torres is not a Top 10 2nd baseman according to MLBNetwork.

It is hard to believe that Gleybor Torres is not a Top 10 2nd baseman according to MLBNetwork. I believe it . His defense took a step back last season and he is known more for his bat than his glove. Overall torres has a slightly above average bat but a below average glove .

Yankees Sign José Rojas To Minor League Deal www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/yankees-sign-jose-rojas-to-minor-league-deal.htmlThe Yankees have signed utility player José Rojas to a minor league deal, per Jon Morosi of MLB.com. The deal for the Warner Sports Management client includes an invite to major league camp. Joel Sherman of The New York Post reports that Rojas would make $750K in the majors and $180K in the minors. Rojas, 31, is returning to North America on the heels of a strong showing in Korea. He signed with the Doosan Bears of the KBO League for the 2023 season and appeared in 122 games for that club. He hit 19 home runs while drawing a walk in 11.9% of his 464 plate appearances, striking out in just 14.7% of them. His .253/.345/.474 batting line translated to a 126 wRC+, indicating he was 26% better than the league average hitter. Prior to heading overseas, Rojas had put together a solid body of work at the Triple-A level but hadn’t been able to carry that up to the big leagues. He got into 83 games with the Angels between 2021 and 2022 but hit .188/.245/.339 in those. At the top minor league level, he hit .277/.343/.525 across four different seasons. On the defensive side of things, Rojas has bounced all around. He has suited up at the three non-shortstop infield positions as well as the outfield corners. The Yankees were snakebit by injuries in 2023 and will go into the upcoming season with some of those concerns lingering. Rojas likely won’t have an easy path to playing time in the outfield corners, where Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo will be sharing the playing time. The infield corners are projected to be taken by Anthony Rizzo and DJ LeMahieu, both of whom dealt with health concerns last year and are now into their mid-30s. Oswald Peraza, Oswaldo Cabrera, Jeter Downs and Jorbit Vivas are on the roster but the Yanks clearly feel a bit of non-roster depth is warranted. They have signed Kevin Smith and Josh VanMeter to minor league deals in recent weeks and now Rojas is on the list as well. If Rojas gets selected to the roster at any point, he still has one option year remaining.

Right now, the Yankees are set to start the season with Clay Holmes, Jonathan Loiasiga, Tommy Kahnle, Scott Effross, Ian Hamilton, Victor Gonzalez and Luke Weaver in the bullpen, with one spot up for grabs. Let’s talk about them individually. The Other Guys: Marinaccio, Beeter, Gil, Poteet, Krook, Morris, Ramirez, Underwood, Warren, etc. Can the Yankees find another Hamilton in this group? Maybe. Like with Gonzalez, I’ll believe it when I see it. One problem that the Yankees have is that because they traded away so much pitching depth, they pretty much need to keep their starting pitchers starting. They can’t try Beeter or Warren or Morris immediately in a short role. Bottom Line There’s a potential elite bullpen in this group, but there is a ton of uncertainty. Only Kahle and Holmes are easy bets to be elite relievers in 2024. Hamilton has only done it for one year. Effross is coming off health problems. Loiasiga is a bit of a mess. Gonzalez is a question mark. I’m concerned, especially given how the Yankees rotation might need some volume out of the bullpen. www.startspreadingthenews.blog/post/the-yankees-bullpen-is-thinYankees Focusing Primarily On Bullpen Upgrades www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/yankees-rumors-bullpen-focus-rotation-unlikely-snell-montgomery.html

Losing king was a bigger hit to the bullpen than the rotatio

In my opinion(s)... They might be better than Torres in the future, but rating 2Bmen with limited amount of MLB experience ahead of Torres is ridiculous.

And yet you got yankees fans that didnt want to trade thorpe and dont want to trade jones at all due to limited minor league experience . Either way i actually believe that torres isnt a top ten second baseman

Top 12 yes but not top ten . Tell me was donaldson a top ten 3b these last 2 seasons? He made over 20 mill a perseason over the last 4 years .

The Yankees have claimed utility player Diego Castillo off of waivers from the Mets, the team announced. In a corresponding move, infielder Jeter Downs was designated for assignment.

Aaron Boone leaning towards batting Juan Soto second, Aaron Judge third.
Aaron Boone: "I'm preparing to play Judgie in center a lot." Adds that he has also talked w/ Judge about possibly playing a little LF, possibly on days w/ Grisham in CF.

I do not like the idea of Judge in CF on a regular basis, but apparently Soto can only handle RF. So I would play Judge in RF and have Soto DH 30 or so games. DH Judge 30 or so and that keeps him out of CF a little.

DH Judge 30 or so and that keeps him pit of CF a little. I was thinking we might see Grisham start in CF a fair amount vs. RHP since hit hits decently against them. Frankly I wouldn’t want to trust LF at home to Soto. If Stanton doesn’t get out of the gate well we may see him only playing vs. LHP… This acquisition and accommodating the player has a few complications. I hope he’s worth it…
