Has anyone seen any other episode of Behind The #'s besides Boone? I've set my DVR to record 1st runs only but I had a dozen episodes of Aaron Bone and no others. I haven't had time yet but I'm interested. I know they have other players but all that keeps recording is Boone every day. I want to know if I'm missing other episodes.

Baseball Prospectus | Daniel R. Epstein: ($) Here’s a fascinating deep dive into Aaron Judge’s work in center field this season. Judge’s full-time shift from corner to center at age-32 is nearly unprecedented, and the defensive numbers so far indicate that he’s made that transition with aplomb. But Epstein quotes Lorenzo Cain, a former ace center fielder, who cautions that Judge can’t be expected to do it for too long. Playing center doesn’t necessarily mean more fielded balls, but it does mean more running, and thus pounding on the body, as the center fielder must at least range toward nearly every fly ball, whereas corner OF’s can stay put on balls to the opposite side.

AP News | Kristie Rieken: Catcher Jose Trevino was named Most Valuable Philanthropist by the MLBPA Players Trust for his work with a nonprofit called Special Hearts in the Arts. This MVP award “recognizes a Player whose efforts have made a positive impact in the causes and communities personal to him.” Special Hearts, which was founded by Sherri Davis, a former teacher of Trevino’s, provides opportunities to students with special needs to get involved in dance, theater, music, and other arts.

Yahoo Sports | Russell Dorsey: MLB announced that as of today, Negro Leagues statistics will become part of Major League historical record. “It’s a big day,” said Negro League Museum president Bob Kendrick. “This is the result of a lot of intensive effort by some incredible historians and researchers who have completely dedicated themselves to trying to do something that people thought probably wasn’t possible.”

I have never been a fan of Judge in CF. Cain's comment makes a lot of sense. Hoping that Dominguez returns and allows Judge to move to a corner (preferably RF).

I agree, and actually Judge has stated that he prefers to play centerfield, which was his main position at Fresno State. And, as many have opined, had Judge been playing centerfield instead of rightfield that day last season in Los Angeles, he may have had another home run season for the ages. His future is definitely somewhere other than centerfield.

MLB.com | Thomas Harrigan: Luis Gil made his 11th start of the season last night, and even excluding that gem, he’s been doing a rather spooky impersonation of the man he’s replacing, reigning Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole. Cole’s injury is the only reason why Gil was added to the MLB roster in the first place back in the spring, and his 2.11 ERA and 2.93 FIP through the beginning of play on Wednesday almost perfectly mirrored Cole’s first 10 starts in prestigious 2023. Debates about how to use Gil once Cole returns in June will rage on, but each great start that the rookie puts up makes him more and more indispensable to the club.
