I'm not here for that. Recently , I said to a friend that's a member of this message board and mentioned how nice this board is and what a warm welcome we got from the members of this message board. I also mentioned that it was refreshing that even the disagreements were civil. Perhaps I spoke too soon?
Time will tell, Max. There are occasional times of unrest here between posters. It may be difficult for you to do, but my advice as a first line of defense is that if a poster is making you uncomfortable or uneasy is to disengage yourself from that poster. If multiple people are uncomfortable then they should all disengage. You’re not forced to read anyone here, and if you do you need not reply. If that person is trolling, and no one is engaging with them they will probably become bored and leave the forum, or they will have a smaller audience. Secondly some people simply have a low level of communication skills and simply don’t realize that they rattle people’s cages. We don’t know it they have medical or psychological issues. If the situation proves to truly become untenable and Kaybli senses we are being trolled or someone is not a fit he will ban a poster rather have the forum in turmoil. He is the person that created the forum and our sole moderator and just happens to be disengaged himself because he out of town this weekend. I’m pretty patient and try to steer people to understand how to be a poster that fits in so that it doesn’t become an issue. If that doesn’t work… well…
Hi Inger. Please don't take this the wrong way. I know you didn't say it or even hint at it, but I'm just saying that I know the phrase, if someone doesn't like a place they can leave it. I know my options as poster and I know Kaybli's options if he feels that things are getting out of hand. The last thing I would want to do here is cause any waves for people who made room for me on this message board and that were also so welcoming to me. As far as I'm concerned, the people that welcomed me here are 1st class.
I don't have an issue about the Boxing reference you made, in fact you made me laugh. I do have a good sense of humor and can take a joke, friendly banter, if the joke and banter are within friendly boundaries. So there's no misunderstanding, I spent sometime growing up being trained in a Boxing ring to know that I'm not in a Boxing match, nor am I looking to be in one.
I treat people they way they treat me, so I'm not going to be friendly with anyone who in my opinion doesn't deserve it. I don't care who it is. I'm not a Scrooge, or I wouldn't have been asked to be a Godfather 8 times. I'm not singling out any poster or posters, I'm just speaking in general, but if the shoe fits anyone, they can wear it. I won't lose sleep over it.
With that said.. Some people online can be keyboard tough guys, some others can be attention starved, argumentative, and have poor people skills. You're right, some people simply have a low level of communication skills and simply don’t realize that they rattle people’s cages and we don’t know if they have medical or psychological issues.
But none of those things you and I mentioned is a license for anyone to talk to me anyway they want. There's a difference between having a disagreement and being a disrespectful argumentative wise ass. If some people have the capability to join a message board, then they should also have the capability to know what the word decorum means. Anyway, I will try to take your wise advice under consideration. Thank you.

Exactly. Anyone who knows me from the YES board knows that I'm not the least bit averse to conflict, but over time I learned it's often best to simply ignore those who seem to thrive on it. Of course you're both right. Which is why I deleted a post over a day and a half ago about the Cashman topic in this thread.

I've read all the posts and I don't see anything worthy of moderation or warnings. Like inger said, if a poster is annoying you, the best thing to do is ignore or block them. I'm pretty hands off when it comes to moderation. Only when it becomes a real problem to reading the forum or something flagrant happens will I warm someone. I've never had to ban anyone besides the spammers. We had one troll who quickly ran away when we outed his true identity (he was posting with an alternate one but we caught him).
We did ban political discourse because at one point it was getting toxic and we lost a couple posters because of it.
But carry on. You won't find heavy handed moderation from me.
I didn't post this in my reply to Inger, because I want to post to you directly. So there's no misunderstanding, my "Did I speak to soon" post wasn't a criticism of you, nor was it a criticism of this message board and it's members. My feelings are just the opposite, I like this message board better than the YES one, and that's saying a lot since I posted on the YES message board for close to 20 years.

Let’s hope that Volpe proves to be worthy of that valuation. Already a gold glove to show… This is a big year two for Volpe. If he can make more contact and get on base more often, he'd could be the leadoff hitter the Yankees need.
I agree. He would fill a need for the Yankees. In my opinion, he's the kind of player that can add spark to a lineup batting leading off.

Who may be better. Plus Arias is going to be at the door soon… 2-3 years…
The scouting reports I read said that Peraza is the better SS, and Arias has the potential to be better than both of them.

I started a Volpe thread before seeing the comments in the last couple of posts. I'm interested in where fans are on him and while it's obvious he needs to raise his BA and K less, what improvements should be exected and what does it take for him to solidify the SS job?
Also, thanks fow being so welcoming to us orphans. There were many good posters on the old forum with a few sprinkled in knuckleheads. I have certainly felt welcomed and comfortable posting here.
