Even if you look away from his attitude problems, his stats last year were kind of underwhelming. I’d take him if they got another better starter but I fear if they sign him he’ll be the main pickup. It’s not an automatic no. Depends on the contract and if they can sign somebody else. But I’m not enthused with a Stroman signing. I’m not a fan of the 33 year old oompah loompah. For a two year, reasonable contract? Is that now a thing of the past? I doubt they sign him for more than 2 or 3 years or i would think they would be going after snell instead

I know they keep the average cost per year down for the contract but that's a lot of dead weight at the end of the deal.

In regards to the starting pitching market , its always gonna be like that because there will always be teams desperate for pitching and will be willing to overpay in atleast years for guys who arent worth it

How about stupidity? … If teams or owners could be charged for stupidity then cashman would have been out of a job years ago

no. if the idea is that he's gonna be a #2 to cole, then no way. at best he's a 3 or 4 and we need a top of the line starter to pair w cole and he's gonna be too expensive to be a 3 or 4.

Since when should we be caring about how expensive a player is? I understand being against long term deals with sone players but why should we care so much about how much the deal is ? This is the friggen yankees not a small market team

I gotta admit, the more I read about Stroman the less enthused I am to sign him. It seems he likes the social media too much and the Yankees do not need the smoke.

I'm optimistic about Warren and don't want to see Stroman take his potential innings. We can develop our own "500" pitcher.

What’s a “500” pitcher?
