Voted yes, because he's a good pitcher, and when it comes to MLB money, he signed a team friendly contract.

1 Word for you ...Stanton!! Dodgers and mets havent been like that these last couple of years . People say the yankees arent being run like a small market team and yet how they have handled the FA market these last few years says differently . Heck even their trades have been for short term rentals .
Small market teams don't have the payroll that the Yankees have. They may be penny wise and pound foolish at times, but the Yankees aren't cheap.

. Never said they were cheap but that they handle the free agent market and trade market like a small market team . With just short term deals and trades for rentals

What small market team do you know that would trade for Rizzo, and re-sign him. Then sign Judge for 40 million a year, then in that same offseason sign Rodon for close to 27 million dollars a year?

Thats 3 players out of the many free agents that came and went .over the years , the yankees passed up on many many more . No other team reallly wanted rodon either and he was a product of cashman royally screwing up the rotation in the previous trade deadline so the yankees were only bidding against themselves . As for rizzo , they signed him instead of a guy like freeman because he was much cheaper like what a small market team does

How do you know that no other team wanted Rodon? Cashman screwed up the Yankees rotation by signing the best left-handed free agent available that finish 5th and 6th in the Cy Young voting the 2 years prior to signing with the Yankees? Please.

Cashman screwed up the rotation at the deadline prior to that off season when he traded monty for what ended up being nothing in the end and then traded for what he knew was damaged goods in montas and that was after passing on castillo . So after losing tailon to free agency they had no choice but to sign rodon . And i know noone else really wanted rodon because noone even matched the yankees offer . I think san fran showed interest but never made an offer . I mean the yankees are still suffering the repercussions from that deadline .

The Yankees still had a choice not to sign Rodon. The Yankees didn't pass on Castillo. The Mariners made the Reds a great trade offer. What proof do you have that no other team wanted Rodon? Feelings and assumptions aren't proof.

And that was the second time cashman passed on castilllo , about 6 months or so earlier he refused to give torres for castillo .

Talk about fantasy baseball trades. There's no way the Reds would trade Castillo straight up for Volpe or straight up for Torres. The Reds want Torres and top prospects. If I remember correctly Cashman offered the Reds The Martian, plus other prospects. The Reds wanted Volpe to be one of those other prospects, Cashman rightfully declined. Even if Cashman was willing to make that trade, what the Mariners offered the Reds beats what the Reds wanted from the Yankees by a country mile.

Yeah, this was simply a case of the Reds liking Seattle's trade package better than anyone else's. The contract extension Seattle signed Castillo to is a steal compared to some of the deals we're seeing now.

I said the reason why the yankees missed out on castillo was because cashman refused to give volpe or torres . The reds first wanted torres included in the trade and cashman said no , then 6 about months later the reds asked for volpe to be included in the trade and cashman said no .

Exactly! In my opinion, if I was a Red fan I think the Reds made the right choice. Yep, the Castillo contract looks like a bargain now.

Well, it wasn't just Volpe or Torres. The Reds aren't the Yankees minor league team, they don't owe the Yankees anything. The Reds took the better prospects even if Cashman was to agree to their proposal.

The reds didnt take seattle’s offer cause it was better they took it because the yankees refused to meet their asking price .
