(Jeff Weaver too) Blast from the past. I do remember a lot of us on whatever board we were posting on complaining about that Lilly for Weaver trade. Lilly was left handed and pitched well for the Yankees, he just didn't get good run support. They didn't need Weaver.

(Jeff Weaver too) Blast from the past. I do remember a lot of us on whatever board we were posting on complaining about that Lilly for Weaver trade. Lilly was left handed and pitched well for the Yankees, he just didn't get good run support. They didn't need Weaver. Lilly performed pretty well. What I’ll always recall is the he had a strange stiff, upright delivery. It worked pretty well though…

Who would you rather have had come from the bullpen in thst key game in extra innings? Weaver or ted lilly?

It worked pretty well though… Lilly wasn't afraid to protect his Yankee batters, when they were thrown at in the games that he was on the mound, He did drive Yankees Pitching Coach Mel Stottlemyre nuts about not throwing enough strikes. The Weaver trade was one of those deals that looked good on paper, but failed to materialized on the playing field. Clipper

It turned out to be a bad trade for the Yankees. I didn't complain about the trade because at the time of the trade looking at those 2 pitchers past performances, the trade favored that Yankees. If I'm not mistaken, Weaver was also younger.

It turned out to be a bad trade for the Yankees. I didn't complain about the trade because at the time of the trade looking at those 2 pitchers past performances, the trade favored that Yankees. If I'm not mistaken, Weaver was also younger.
I never liked the trade .
