No one could've predicted a 5-0 start. We are not going to win every game so look at tonight as a throw away. Just need to come out strong tomorrow. Going to be a few bad streaks but just need to limit them. Rodon vs. Merritt Kelly not exactly a gimme. D'backs have the pitching edge until Rodon proves otherwise. |

Slider outer 3rd is strike 1
2nd slider gets a tiny piece of the low/outside corner not called, 1-1
Barossa chanses a sinker above the zone, grounds out sharply to Volpe, 1 down
Slider at the knees is a strike to McCarthy
Swings through a FB up in the zone.
Back leg slider swung over, 3 pitch K, 2 down

Sinker outside, 1-0 to Perdomo.
Slider outside corner, 1-1
Sinker down and in on the corner, 1-2
Slider misses low/away, 2-2
Sinker tails over the middle above the kneew, Perdomo lines it to right for a single with 2 down.
Bad sinker again.
When you're just a two-pitcher, more than one of them has be not bad.

Back door slider for a strike to Marte.
Sinker tails over the inside corner for a piece, not called, 1-1
Sinker over the middle near the top, fouled off, 1-2
Ties the backdoor slider again, misses low/away, 2-2
Great slider disappears down and in for the K, but ball gets through Wells for a PB, rolls back to the screen
Marte doesn't realize at 1st, then takes off, Wells didn't realize it either, Perdomo to 3rd with 2 down.

His slider is sharp enough that somoething can be made from him, but he'll need a better hard pitch than that sinker. Maybe Blake will teach him the cutter to go with them?

And that forces Ferguson to get loose. Sign. That dropped 3rd strike....

Whew.
Slider stays middle thigh high, lined to left, but stays up for Verdugo, inning over.
