I'm afraid this is what Stanton is. He hasn't made enough changes to his swing or his approach. I'd prefer to have a kid like Pereira up here, where at least he has a chance to improve and acclimate to MLB pitching. Stanton is basically a waste of a roster spot. An albatross. One of the worst moves in Yankees history. Sorry, not sorry. |

Cutter in the middle, bounced to short, Volpe charges, starts a DP attempt, the relay is called in time for the DP< but Marte might have beaten the relay from Torres.
D'backs challenge Torres keeping his foot on the bag on the force AND Marte beating the relay.

Key turning point here. Out keeps the game within reach. Hit and it's likely over for the night.

Nestor holds it together!!
His command is not there tonight, and his stuff is also off a bit, but the guts and guile are still there.
Now, we see if the Yanks can do anything with Gallen or their relievers.
7-8-9 for the Yanks, Volpe, Caabrera and Trevino. Maybe Volpe and Cabrera can get singles again. If so, Trevino can bunt.

Only Stanton's mother isn't thinking it, and that's simply due to not watching the games. It interferes with Jeopardy reruns and Golden Girls on PlutoTV. |
