3rd star of the game: Holmes with a trouble free 9th for the save 2nd star: Hamilton with a good 2 innings bailing Rodon out of the jam without giving up all of the lead. 1st star: Rodon, for 6 excellent innings, and it really should've been 7 with a little better luck.
He still doesn't look elite, but he was certainly good enough tonight as he tries to figure out this approach to throwing 5 pitches instead of 3 and saving some stuff for critical situations. If you want to give a 3rd star to Soto instead, well, that's OK with me.

Gleyber giveth and Gleyber taketh away, blessed be... ...aw, you know the rest. I’ve got all that stuff blocked out now, but I’m glad we won. It should have been by more tha one run. We played on the margins today. Any other team might have beat us…

Series finale is 7:05 tomorrow evening, unfortunately on Amazon Prime. As ever in these situations, I'll be with you if I can find a gamecast, and if not, I'll follow it on Gameday, I guess.
Yanks go for the sweep behind veteran Marcus Stroman, off to a great start this season: Has pitched 6 shutout innings in each of his first two starts, just 7 hits and 3 runs allowed, with 10 K. He's 1-0 with a no-decision. Opposing him will be former highly regarded prospect lefty Ryan Weathers, trying to put the pieces together and become a successful post-hype prospect after several poor seasons in a row. He had a bad first start but a respectable 2nd start. In those two starts, he has a loss and a no-decision, and in 9 innings, has allowed 10 hits, 4 BB, a HR and 6 runs, 4 earned, while striking out 11. His ERA is 4.00 and his WHIP is 1.556. Supposedly, he's throwing harder this year than he has before. I guess we'll see tomorrow.
OK, that's it for me for tonight. See you guys tomorrow evening at 7:05 or so. Good night to all. Bye!

160-2 still in play.
Encouraged by Nestor and Rodon the past two nights, even if it's against the lowly Marlins. Best record in baseball, this train doesn't stop. On to the next one.
