You might be the first poster to achieve "Jeterian God" status by using emojis primarily. Better than talking game threads to death, I guess.

160-2 still in play. Encouraged by Nestor and Rodon the past two nights, even if it's against the lowly Marlins. Best record in baseball, this train doesn't stop. On to the next one. Last season, we lost too many games to teams that we should have beaten at least 2 out of 3. I'm okay with beating up on bad teams. At least this season, Boone does not run out a spring training lineup after a series has been won. Win every game you can whenever you can, worry about tomorrow later.

Wrestlemania? Really. A scripted sport. Wait Rizz. Are you saying you don't think Chief Jay Strongbow's Indian Strap Match against Mr. Fuji was legitimate? I'm afraid that neither of those guys were on the regular Mid-South tour. Back then, "professional" wrestling was run regionally, so those names that were big on the East Coast were likely seldom seen in the Deep South. We had Bruiser Bob Sweetan, Ken Mantel, Skandar Akbar, Cowboy Bill Watts, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Junk Yard Dog, Kamala, Ted DiBiase, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Mr. Wrestling II, King Kong Mosca, The Iron Sheik, and sometimes Big Cat Ernie Ladd (former professional football player) and Harley Race. Every once in a while a special visit from Andre the Giant.

Series finale is 7:05 tomorrow evening, unfortunately on Amazon Prime. As ever in these situations, I'll be with you if I can find a gamecast, and if not, I'll follow it on Gameday, I guess. Yanks go for the sweep behind veteran Marcus Stroman, off to a great start this season: Has pitched 6 shutout innings in each of his first two starts, just 7 hits and 3 runs allowed, with 10 K. He's 1-0 with a no-decision. Opposing him will be former highly regarded prospect lefty Ryan Weathers, trying to put the pieces together and become a successful post-hype prospect after several poor seasons in a row. He had a bad first start but a respectable 2nd start. In those two starts, he has a loss and a no-decision, and in 9 innings, has allowed 10 hits, 4 BB, a HR and 6 runs, 4 earned, while striking out 11. His ERA is 4.00 and his WHIP is 1.556. Supposedly, he's throwing harder this year than he has before. I guess we'll see tomorrow. OK, that's it for me for tonight. See you guys tomorrow evening at 7:05 or so. Good night to all. Bye! Good night qwik!

I don’t care who we beat or by how much, but the best indication of a great team is batering the weak teams with a goal of +/- .500 against the good teams…

Every once in a while a special visit from Andre the Giant. I know most of the guys you mentioned. Loved The Iron Sheikh ("Death to America") when he teamed with Nikolai Volkov for an All Bad Guys tag team. I remember Ernie Ladd both as a wrestler and a player for the San Diego Chargers in the early days of the AFL. And Cowboy Bill Watts, who famously taunted Bruno Sanmartino, played for Bud Wilkinson at Oklahoma and got into wrestling through his Sooner teammate Wahoo McDaniel. My wife and I were on a flight from Albuquerque to Denver and sitting across from us was some huge guy covered in tattoos who looked like the most badass biker you ever saw. When the plane arrived, dozens of young boys started swarming him. I asked one of the kids who that was and he told me Bam Bam Bigelow. I had never heard of him. This was in the late 80s, so I was no longer keeping up with wrestling.

just watched the post-game. first time seeing swisher. wow talk about hyper-active. knowledgeable w good things to say but he talks a mile a minute and just takes the show over.
as for the game, probably rodon's best as a yankee. great to see him throw more pitches into the mix to keep hitters off his fastball. a strike out on a change. DP on a cutter. FB velo increased as the game went on.
hamilton another of cashman's classic "dumpster dives". does have a knack for finding good BP arms. 17 pitches last night in 2 innings. very pitch efficient. if folks had one concern coming into the season, it was about the pitching and so far both the starters and the pen have done overall a good job.
hopefully stroman (who's been our ace so far) makes it 3 in a row tonight to complete the sweep.

You are at home against maybe the worst team in baseball this season other than the A's maybe. I know it sounds greedy but I will be disappointed with even losing one game of this series. Got a tough one this weakened going to 8-3 Cleveland. I'm not sure Cleveland is really that good but can't take them lightly for sure. I know a lot of people are already there but if the Yanks can go on this next road trip and come back still not having lost a series then I am thinkingf this has the potential to be a VERY special team similar to 1998. Getting lost in all this is that other than Soto and Volpe this team is really not hitting but they are still 10-2. Wham they start hitting and Cole comes back? OMG.

Many many years ago, I was on a Allegany airlines flight seating behind Bruno Sammartino. I will always remember this, because he was SO big that he took up two seats...
