Soto deserved to be out with that nonchalant way he got back to the bag.

Change low in the middle of the plate, hit high to left, Kwan fights the sun and catches inning over. Quick inning for Carrasco because of the flyball double play. 13 pitches and 51 through 3 innings. It was 46 with nobody out in the 2nd before the strange double play.
Bottom 3, 1-0 Yanks. Rocchio, Kwan, Gimenez for the Guardians.

Yanks don't challenge, not sure why. Not challengable, maybe? You can't challenge a challenge. The Guardians already challenged the original safe call.

Soto deserved to be out with that nonchalant way he got back to the bag. He didn't have a direct line to the bag because Naylor extended his leg across the base path before he even had the ball.

Schmmidt gets ahead of Rocchio 1-2, then he swings under a cutter backing up waist high across the outer half for the K, 1 down.

Yanks don't challenge, not sure why. Not challengable, maybe? I suspect because they would be challenging the same crew that just ruled on the play. Stupid umpires.

If he ran back to the bag instead of jogging he would have plenty of time to get back to the bag. Bad and lazy base running has been a constant under Boone's managerial tenure and looks like it hasn't changed.

1-2 on Kwan. Big breaking curve on the back leg well inside swung over, and Kwan has K'd twice. 2 down.

Great inning for Schmidt.

Schmidt gets a 3 pitch K of Giminez, getting him on a GOOD 0-2 cutter in the middle of the plate, but about 2-3 inches above the zone. Inning over. Excellent inning for Schmidt, a 1-2-3 on just 13 pitches and he's at 48 through 3 now.

There was some zip on that throw… but that doesn’t excuse the jog back… pay attention young man…
