Volpe up for his 4th PA here in the 5th. 0-2... Wow, splitter down and in on the corner, Volpe goes down and golfs it, hit it well, but the fliner goes right where Laureano is in right center to end the inning. Good hitting by Volpe there, but no luck. 105 mph, XBA was .740. Bottom 5, 8-0 Yanks. Poteet goes back out there to try and qualify for the W, he's at 45 pitches and will face Laureano, Florial and Fry. Hey Qwik, MY Rangers still hanging tough with another win. Nice going. |

0-1 curve thigh high in the middle of the plate, belted just over the wall in right. Soto tried to leap, but had no real shot. Solo HR makes it 8-1.
Watch out now. Guardians starting to hit Poteet harder.

1-2 slider on the outside corner gets a good frame from Wells for the ꓘ.

Poteet makes a mistake or two but stays calm and in rhythm on the mound to end the fifth inning. 8-1 Yankees.

Arias hammers the first pitch into the corner in right for a 2 out double, Rocchio chases a 1st pitch sinker low, and rolls it over to Rizzo, who flips to Poteet to end the inning.
Top 6, 8-1 Yanks. Boone might be able to squeeze one more from Poteet, who threw 11 more pitches in the 5th, and is at 56 total.
Soto, Judge and Rizzo for the Yanks in the 6th.

volpe lines out to end inning. yanks add 2 more Hey Bumper, are you still getting snow in your area? no. got 26" about a week and a half ago but it's been a warm & rainy week. still skiing though. will go out tomorrow. have a gig tomorrow nite. |
