Hey I like those songs. To each their own... Great songs if you hear them once a year ... But 2 or 3 times a day ... no thanks

It was disappointing to me. All because of network TV's treatment of it. Mostly just one song at a time before a string of commercials. The commercial strings were so long that I expect there were songs being played while they were in commercial. A couple of times they did back to back songs before a commercial. If network TV had any brains they would have planned an intermission with one block of commercials, but they don't. Worst of all, Joel was playing Piano Man for his finale and it ran over a bit. The local news station cut him off with at least 1:00 or more to go... I'm going to watch the replay in hopes that it has no commercials and that it doesn't get cut off. Bill was born in 1949, so he's five years older than me, but...man has he aged. Jowly as all Hell. I'm thinking that he's done this concert and released " Turn the Lights Back On" in anticipation of retiring soon. Concerts have a good bit of interplay with the audience, and if the songs were actually gapped for network TV we likely missed some of that. I give Billy credit for trying to hit the high notes during "An Innocent Man" That was to be a difficult song for him to sing at his age, but the effort was there. Sting did a good job on "Big Man on Mulberry Street", a song that often gets forgotten when discussing Billy's catalog. Mulberry Street has become one of my favorite deep cuts. Ruthie had just said that she was hoping to hear âItalian Restaurantâ a few seconds before the first chords were played. I remember my ex had a friend that said she couldnât stand Billy because he changed octaves in the middle some of his songs. Well, try to do it few times and see how you make out before you criticize. Itâs not all that easyâŚ

And probably "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Sweet Home Alabama" too.  "Free Bird"...which along with McCartney's live version of "Hey Jude" makes me want to fling myself out the nearest window. My son used to turn music on when we had Direct TV. For some reason the particular station he listened seemed to really love to play songs by âSimply Redâ, particularly âHolding Back the Years.â Itâs a good song in a vacuum, but itâs not a good song three times a day. I still canât listen to it nowâŚ

As a stress reliever he would go around the facility singing and doing a few other goofy, though not outrageous things as he tended to his work. I nicknamed him âFree Birdâ, after which one of the owners told me that he couldnât get that song out of his head⌠đGoal accomplishedâŚđ

I subsequent visits we were entertained by âYMCAâ and âWe Are The Worldâ ad nauseam at his house. Like the rest of that family, he suffered from some kind of madness⌠Even worse his kids all had monotones and would âsingâ along all eveningâŚit sounded more like an undercurrent death chantâŚ
