Nice recovery by Victor for the Victory!!! That's a play he should've run thru the bag...

I'd root for anyone playing the Capitals, except maybe the Flyers, then I would hope they both could lose. Maybe a tie? They say it’s like kissing your sister, but I never did that… They used to have ties in hockey.

Take away by the Rangers, Trocheck hits Panarin against a 2-on-1 down low, and the Bread Man puts it home, 2-0 Rangers Nice!
I'm an NY Islanders fan first, but I root for the Rangers and NJD just as long as they aren't playing the NYI.
Same thing for me in the other direction. I well remember those great frustrating Islanders teams of the early 1980's. In the season in which they were trying for their 5th Cup in a row, they got the Rangers in the 1st round, and it was a tough 2-2 after 4 games, with the 5th game in OT on the Island. About 8 1/2 minutes into OT, Reijo Ruotsalainen cracked a slapped shot from near the blue line that had Billy Smith beat, but missed wide by inches. He had room on that side but missed. The Islanders came right down and scored (Ken Morrow) and won the series.

Caps strike back for a goal, and the Rangers take a penalty right after that. Caps going on the power play, which was the best in the league after the All-Star break.

Didn't grow up a hockey fan but got interested later in life as a Colorado Rockies (hockey) fan...before they became the New Jersey Devils. An exciting sport to watch...in person.

Rangers kill off the Caps' power play again. Still up 3-1 with 6 1/2 minutes left in the 2nd.
And that's going to do it for me for today, peoples. See you again tomorrow evening for Sears vs. Rodon. Good afternoon to all of you. Bye!.

tuned into game during our 5th inning rally with gleyber's AB. think cash gifted us the game staying w civale who was clearly out of gas after 3 straight walks which were followed up by 3 hits on 3 pitches. didn't trust his pen in that spot. we'll take it.
verdugo w 3 hits and 2 rbi has to be potg. gil & ocab honorable mentions. probably gil's best start. volpe 0-5 w 2 Ks. now at 2-25. looking more like the volpe of last season.

Maybe a tie? They say it’s like kissing your sister, but I never did that… They used to have ties in hockey. I was never fond of the Flyers. I appreciate Bobby Clarke's talent and toughness. Excellent player, but he was annoying. A long time ago, I went to MSG to see the Flyers play the NYR with some of my NYR fan friends. I think I was rooting harder for the NYR to win than they were.

Those late 70's, 80's match ups are legendary. As I told my NYR fan friends, if it wasn't for the NYI, I think the NYR would have won at least 1 Cup in the 80's.

If the NYI would have lost that Stanley Cup Final series to the Flyers, I think I would have thrown up.
I always liked the old NHL playoff format, because there was always a chance that the NYI could play the NYR in the Stanley Cup Finials.

Always wondered what the Quebec fans thought when their team moved to Colorado and won the Cup. Yeah...the Avs, with Sakic, Forsberg and Roy were a formidable team early on. I still have the letter somewhere from John McMullen (or maybe Peter Gilbert) thanking me for my support of the Rockies but...too bad, so sad...the team was moving to New Jersey. I followed the Grizzles for awhile before losing interest.

I would guess it's pretty unusual to win a game in which you make 3 errors and have 2 balks, but I'll take it.
