Looking for a new job, Mr. CFO?
I am, the culture is not good where I am at. There's too much doom and gloom, so it's not a healthy place to work. Sorry to hear that, my friend. Hope you find something good. I know any place would be lucky to have you!

Sounds like a plan! I'll be pulling for ya. Keep us updated. And most importantly don't take a job that gets in the way of your Yankee watching!

Not much. Big rain all day yesterday and last night. We both caught five each but threw them back, as they were all just under the size limit. Thats five more than I've ever caught!
Maybe fishing for a compliment, but actual fishing for fish? Haven't tried it since maybe I was in grade school. Sounds like fun if you have good company though.
I grew up fishing, setting fish traps, hoop nets, trot lines, etc. in the sticks of southern Louisiana. My father expected fresh fish and game to fill the freezer in case of the apocalypse. It has been several years since I last went fishing - probably with my father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and Sarah on a big pontoon boat on a lake in Minnesota. Sometime after we left California. Not sure what year that would have been. My old roommate is absolutely crazy about fishing - he thinks about it constantly and is very competitive. Today, I started out with four to his one, and I could tell he was getting nervous. I really don't care about competition in fishing or hunting, as I don't really think of those endeavors as sports or games. He was fishing with three rods in the water to my one, which of course I teased him about. We were about to leave with me up 5-4, when he hooked another one. He was happy to be tied. I bought him lunch after we got the boat back on the trailer. He gets down in the midst of his divorce, so today was a great day to spend talking and getting things off his chest, while taking in some beautiful scenery. It was just a little bit too windy, but it was a really enjoyable day. Other than a little too much sun and not enough sunscreen, I came out unscathed! White boy.

Got tight at the end but they did what they had to do to win.

If he could learn to concentrate, we could have something with Gil. His overall stuff is really good.

Almost no one wears ties anymore. I've got several hundred I'm willing to sell...from kite width to skinny. EBay is calling…

It’s hard to find a culture that isn’t doom and gloom these days. Maybe it always was that way. I can’t think of a job that I ever had that I felt was positive from the perspective of ownership, upper management. Best of luck finding what you need to be happy. I had to tough out a lot of years waiting for the finish line… if I ever tried to inject humor or positivity it was almost always shot down…

Seems like you are an expert fisherman! Good of you to listen to your friend whose going through a tough time with his divorce.
I doubt I'd make a good fisherman. My skills are on the computer not on the outdoorsy stuff. My worst nightmare would be going camping without a functional toilet.

Yankees bullpen has a 6.86 K/9, the lowest in baseball.

Yankees bullpen has a 6.86 K/9, the lowest in baseball. Pretty much by design. Quite a variation from the norm… lots of worm burners…

If he could learn to concentrate, we could have something with Gil. His overall stuff is really good. Opponents were only hitting .133 off him going into yesterday's game. I feel like the Yankees are really mis managing Gil if they don't have the coaching in place to get him to trust his stuff and if they don't get it figured out he will be gone soon and become an ace on another team as he continues to develop. If he did not walk so many guys trying to strike everyone out he would be so great. With the stuff he has he should be attacking the strike zone. I feel like the Yankees will screw this up though and send him to the minors or the pen when Cole comes back. Hard to believe Gil's WHIP is only 1.27 with all those walks.

Thanks everyone for contributing to the game thread. Today, I went fishing with my old college roommate on his boat in the lake behind my apartment complex. Huge lake and explored a good piece of it. Beautiful day and had lots of fun. Had not been fishing since Sarah was alive. She loved to be on the water in any craft possible. Just read though the game thread, and I am happy to see that we held on to beat the Rays and take the series. Tampa is looking beatable this season. Yankees have not even come close to clicking on all cylinders yet. We won without an offensive contribution from The Great Soto. Gil learning to pitch at the big league level, and the bullpen bends but doesn't break. Time for a well needed shower! Did you catch anything? I used to own a small Boston Whaler and would go fishing in the Delta quite a bit. Update: I didn't see your answer to a similar question before asking, no need to answer.
