Stanton gets a cutter away on 1-0, tries to do the right thing, but his grounder to the right is fielded by Gelof who throws him out, 2 down. It's only a groundout, but that's actually encouraging for Stanton, after watching him take the same swing for about 2 years now. He still has enough power in that bat to take a pitch away to the RF seats.

Stroman gets ahead 0-2, the tries to make Butler chases a sinker away. He doesn't, 1-2 Fouls off a cutter. Are you freaking kidding me with that spit??? Slider about 4-5 inches below the zone, Butler drops the bat on it and lines it into the first row of the Porch in right, solo HR makes it 4-3 Yanks.
Ridiculous HR. welp, the Porch is there for both teams I guess.

Qwik, I was hoping to see a name you'll see in June's amateur draft today. Unfortunately, it wasn't his turn to pitch. The kid throws 94 as a high school senior. He's committed to University of Texas, but depending on his draft position, could go pro.

Tumpane getting a little frisky behind the plate. He's generally regarded as one of the game's best plate umpires.

Ruiz takes a strike, then a pitch that clearly misses outside is called strike 2. The A's Dugout starts yelling and Tampane yells at them to not argue strike calls. Sinker low, 1-2 Chases a terrible slider low/away for the K. Inning over, but the A's get back to within a run. 4-3 Yanks going bottom 4. 13 pitches for Stroman in the 4th and 73 through 4.
Torres, Verdugo and Cabrera for the Yanks.

Tumpane getting a little frisky behind the plate. He's generally regarded as one of the game's best plate umpires. He's missed a couple tonight, including the 0-1 to Ruiz that was at least 3 inches off the plate, but he hasn't been bad so far. Rangers Caps back underway, 1:30 into the 2nd pd now.
