Rodon has been a bright spot this season. That is awesome to see.

Aside from the Isles staying alive, the Lightning beat the Panthers 6-3 to take a 3-1 lead in that series.
Janson Junk, a pitcher the Yanks traded to the Ranges in the Gallo trade, if I remember right, now in for the Brewers.
0-2 on Soto quickly.

Rodon has been a bright spot this season. That is awesome to see. This is the first game this year he actually looked like the guy the Yanks paid for in the winter of 2022-2023. FB above and outside of middle, rapped back through the middle of the field, a leadoff single. Trammell comes in to pinch run, a pretty good idea with a 10 run lead in the 7th.

FB inside to Judge, 1-0 Curveball grounded sharply to Miller at 2nd, and Judge adds to his MLB leading GIDP today with a 4-6-3 for his 9th of the season. On pace, doesn't exist, but he's on pace for over 50 of them, which would have to be an MLB single season record. Verdugo takes a strike, then inside outs a FB on the corner inside to left for a 2 out single.

Kay corrects my error. Junk was traded to the Angels in the waste of time Heaney deal, not the bigger waste of time Gallo deal.

1-2 on Stanton. Slider hangs inside but Stanton tops it foul Junk did not like the location of that one. Lucky he got that back FB misses outside at the knees at 96, Lucky for Stanton, because he can't catch up to that if it's in the zone FB inside near the top, 3-2.

FB outside corner at 94, late swing, spoiled foul FB above the top, Stanton chases late and under, K, inning over Bottom 7, 11-1 Yanks
Let's see if Boone sends Rodon out to start the 7th. Not sure if he will.

Previous to today, Verdugo only had 45 starts from the cleanup spot, with tepid results .254 .340 .402 .743 ; 3 HR 18 RBI. But then again Boston doesn’t exactly favor LHB in the same way YS3 does…

Perkins Sanchez and Ortiz for the Brewers, whoever is pitching for the Yanks. Rodon is done, his best start this year, and certainly one of his 2-3 best as a Yankee, against a pretty good lineup in a good hitter's park, too.
Weaver comes in to try to get through 2, maybe 3 innings.

But then again Boston doesn’t exactly favor LHB in the same way YS3 does… Fenway is bad for a lefty's power but is good for his average. If you pitch inside, he can pull for power and maybe get some doubles and Pesky Pole HRs. If you pitch away, he can play paddle ball with the Monster for lots of singles and double, like Yastrzemski did and Freddie Lynn and so did Boggs. All three had much high BAVG at home than on the road, if I remember right. Weaver idiotically walks Perkins on 4 pitches with a 10 run lead. Edit: also he faces more righties and fewer lefties in Fenway because of the Monster.

Kay corrects my error. Junk was traded to the Angels in the waste of time Heaney deal, not the bigger waste of time Gallo deal. I think Duran is the only decent player they lost in the Gallo trade. And then they made up for it by getting Beeter in from the Dodgers for Joey.

Ortiz swings on a first pitch FB up in the zone, knocks it up the middle, but Volpe ranges into short center behind 2nd, gloves it, turns and fires to 1st, two down, as Perkins gets to 2nd. Chourio hits a hard grounder up the middle, and The Good Torres shows up, makes a great block behind 2nd, recovers in a hurry, fires off balance moving away from 1st but it's a strong throw and on target and they steal a hit from Chourio to end the inning. Volpe made an excellent play on Ortiz, this was a brilliant play by Torres Top 8, 11-1 Yanks.
