FB hits the high outside corner at 95, 0-1 on Rizzo Blows the FB by him above the zone, 0-2 Chases a terrible FB about 5-6 inches high inside middle for the K. Non-competitive at bat by Rizzo, 2 down.

That might have been the worst swing in baseball history. The ball was nearly in the Orioles dugout…

Pulls off the change hitting the low outside corner, 0-1 Takes the change outside at the knees, 1-1 Change away, and Torres doesn't recognize, rolls over to Westburg at 3rd, easy play, throws him out, game over.
Yanks lose their 2nd straight to the O's, this time 4-2, falling back to 7 games over .560 at 19-12. Yanks now 7-9 since starting 12-3. O's move a full game up on them in 1st at 19-10.
Sox winning and Jays and Rays trailing in their games. If those scores hold, Yanks will be in 2nd, 1 game behind the O's just 1 1/2 up on the Sox in 3rd, 4 games up on the Jays and 5 up on the Rays.

It frustrating but as long as Judge and somewhat Gleyber continue to struggle, this team will lose games like this. Soto can't do it alone.

Well, if this is a "statement series", Flats, the statement the Yanks are making right now is they have no championship level hitters besides Soto.
=============================
3rd game of the series is tomorrow on Prime Delayed Video at 6:35 pm. It doesn't get any easier for the Yankees' 'attack', O's send out genuine ace Corbin Burnes, while the Yanks will opposed with Luis Gil of the great stuff and poor command. Yanks will need some luck to avoid losing the first three of this series.
That's it for me for tonight. See you guys tomorrow evening. Good night to all. Bye.

I've said this several times, but things keep going this way, no chance Soto stays with him, even if they pony up the big bucks. Why waste his prime for a team that won't win?

Soto got a taste of wining the World Series early in his career, he certainly wants more. I just wonder how many teams out there can even offer what he'll be looking for in free agency. It has to be a short list.

Yea this is frustrating at times this year, but last year they were EIGHT GAMES out on this date. Right now it's just 1 with a chance to be ahead if they win these last 2. They've also pulled 4 ahead of Toronto and 5 ahead of Tampa and I don't expect Boston to hang around. Gerit Cole is not here, Judge has struggled, Gleyber has struggled, and they are still in this position They also have a +39 run diff (last year +2). So I think if you are the Yankees you will be pleased with this start, but they need to use May to get into another gear and get going a little more consistent. Also if they win tomorrow they will be the first team in MLB to 20 wins (pending on some NL games right now) so they're "fine" they've stayed above water without Gerit Cole for 31 games, right there at the division lead, tops in baseball in wins. It's just time to go to that next gear get 10 over .500

What a terrible day for New York Sports. Knicks choked one up for the ages and Yankees lost to their main divisional foes this year. It can all be forgotten with a Knicks win Thursday and two in a row from the Yanks though!

tied for the most wins in mlb with a team whose overall play has been inconsistent and a just notch above mediocre, with a number of players including it's star player underperforming. no ace starter. i prefer to play the games.
