What a terrible day for New York Sports. Knicks choked one up for the ages and Yankees lost to their main divisional foes this year. It can all be forgotten with a Knicks win Thursday and two in a row from the Yanks though! Knicks choke was worst I’ve ever seen or even heard about for them. Up 6 with 20 seconds at home. Hope Yanks turn things around.

It was a complete reversal of Game 2, when the Sixers flushed a win down the toilet.

I've said this several times, but things keep going this way, no chance Soto stays with him, even if they pony up the big bucks. Why waste his prime for a team that won't win? Just some perspective. Yea this is frustrating at times this year, but last year they were EIGHT GAMES out on this date. Right now it's just 1 with a chance to be ahead if they win these last 2. They've also pulled 4 ahead of Toronto and 5 ahead of Tampa and I don't expect Boston to hang around. Gerit Cole is not here, Judge has struggled, Gleyber has struggled, and they are still in this position They also have a +39 run diff (last year +2). So I think if you are the Yankees you will be pleased with this start, but they need to use May to get into another gear and get going a little more consistent. Also if they win tomorrow they will be the first team in MLB to 20 wins (pending on some NL games right now) so they're "fine" they've stayed above water without Gerit Cole for 31 games, right there at the division lead, tops in baseball in wins. It's just time to go to that next gear get 10 over .500 I admire your optimism Anthony and I keep reminding myself that it is a long season and we are just two games away from an offensive explosion. What concerned me about last night though is that it kinda reminded me of our season last year, most of which was our lack of clutch hitting. Honest to goodness that swing that Stanton took was beyond laughable and when he has to run to first base he looks like a stick figure. I know Verdugo is on baby leave but is Trent Grisham the best we can run out with the game on the line? Is there really no one at AAA that can do better? Maybe the return of JD will help. It was just a couple years ago that I was excited about our almost ready prospects. Maybe that was just my delusion. Rant over.

We all should have known that after 30 runs in two days we were gonna cool off…let’s just hope now that after 2 runs in 2 days we’re due to start hitting again… Farging Orioles…

It frustrating but as long as Judge and somewhat Gleyber continue to struggle, this team will lose games like this. Soto can't do it alone. I've said this several times, but things keep going this way, no chance Soto stays with him, even if they pony up the big bucks. Why waste his prime for a team that won't win?
No team has won more than the Yankees. More often than not, the Yankees contend.
Just my guess, but I think Soto re-signs with the Yankees unless the Mets give Soto a ridiculous over the top contract.

It was just a couple years ago that I was excited about our almost ready prospects. Maybe that was just my delusion. Rant over. Of course there's concerns but I feel like a lot of that last year really was affected by being in such a huge hole early on. Boone has a tendency to manage this team like they are 10 up in the standings at all times add that to Cashman trying to plug holes with AAAA players and you get a disaster. They've always done better in the overall standings when they've had a bit of a cushion to account for this and last year they played from behind all year long. That's why I said this is "fine" for an April month. They keep winning 19 of every 31 games and that's like a 97 win pace or something. However if they what that cushion they need to go on some more like 7-3, 8-2 runs and obv these h2h vs Baltimore need to be better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also blame the judge injury all you want last year but at the trade deadline they were 3 out of a wildcard and Cashman did nothing. There was no reason that team couldn't have made the playoffs with a couple trades.

I'm not getting a feel for the Soto extension situation because right now for me there are too many unknowns. First, what motivates the young man? Is he going to take the biggest contract or does he want to win championships or is there a locale that he enjoys? I do think how the Yankees perform this year and the outlook for the near term view of them as a contender will probably be a factor. He seemed to really be enjoying himself during the early winning streak. If the Team "underachieves" again will he have the same outlook? If they go into the offseason contemplating GM, managerial, or major roster changes will that influence his decision? His next contract will be long term and give him stability, it's an important decision for him and he may be in the unique position to get everything he wants.

Maybe you're right, Max. I dunno. I hope that I'm half right, because I don't want the Mets to offer Soto a ridiculous over the top contract. That applies to the Dodgers too, because that Ohtani deferred contract helps out the Dodgers a lot when it comes to the Luxury Tax.
