Machado is a HOF caliber talent, but he also strikes me as a head case and a bit of a prima donna. He's an incredible third baseman, but he doesn't want to play third base. And, he's another of those guys who doesn't always play hard, jogging to first base. That's what is such a travesty about Mike Trout. Plays hard all the time. Never complains. Never makes a spectacle of himself off or on the field. Leads by example. Never sulks. Sounds strikingly similar to a HOF caliber 3rd basemen that played for the Yankees not that long ago. Maybe not a head case per se, but still. |

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR...
Many of you, have stated an interest in trading for HAPP.
His prior start before last night's game was awful.
Last night, HAPP was worse than AWFUL!!!
In the 4th Inning he used over 44 Pitches and didn't even finish the inning.
TO BE TRUTHFUL: He makes GRAY look really GOOD!
Be care careful what you wish for...

I'd rather jump on the Fulmer "bangwagon" at the moment. And I've been against him for a while honestly we just need someone who can be summoned for 6 innings of 3 run ball. Hammels wouldn't be a bad idea if we didn't need to pick up his option to drop the ntc

Not sure if the possible deGrom trade has been discussed adnaseum but I would trade the farm for this guy. I cut and paste the paragraph below from an article. I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Having another ace changes your whole team's outlook.
The Mets would love the package to start with Gleyber Torres, but that's not happening. However, to get deGrom they would have to include third baseman Miguel Andujar as the headliner; one of their top young starters from the group of Domingo German, Justus Sheffield or Jonathan Loaisiga; and one of their two young outfielders, Clint Frazier or Estevan Florial. That's a steep price to pay, but imagine Luis Severino and Jacob deGrom each getting two starts in a seven-game series.
