I wouldn't have minded a reunion with Elvodia if the price was low enough. Oh well. I'll go a step further and say I wanted them to trade for Evo... If the price was correct

NOW in the Off Season WE should sign Miller & Allen RP'S F/A's from the Indians and Sign Pomeranz SP FA from the Red Sox...
I just hope WE do not sign as FA'S either Harper or Machado = Two Hissy Fitters with Huge Nuke Egos...unless you want to watch Boxing Matches in our Dugout & Dressing Room.

Sign 3 "retreads" (one 34 y/o who has had injuries last two years, one who has an ERA approaching 5 this year, and one soft tossing lefty who has been hurt or gotten bombed all year long) but avoid 2 "prospects" who are among best in the game. Genius!

Genius! As I was reading this i thought is this opposite day in DoMe world . The guy who has considered guys the same age as Judge before a retread and is absolutely against "retreads" wants to sign retreads who suck balls?

If I am the Yankees, I am making another call to Toronto...this time about Justin Smoak. By the time Judge is back from the injury, rosters will be expanding and they probably wont even be forced to dump anybody.

He's not an upgrade for Bird...Does he play 1B with Bird at DH? One thing I see is that we can't continue to allow Walker to play an pretend he's going to hit...Addition by subtraction there...

The Yankees now have a glaring hole at DH with Judge out (assuming Stanton will play everyday in RF now). Two of their top four hitters are on the shelf for a month during a critical stretch of the season in which the AL East division title still needs to be the goal. When Judge comes back, rosters will be on the verge of expanding within a matter of days (assuming the 3 weeks + a rehab stint) and they can figure out what theyd like to do with time-sharing at that point depending on who is the hot hand. I know their top 7 in the lineup is still really strong but if you can snag a guy on the cheapish (I havent heard much about a Smoak trade market anywhere) at this stage, Im for it.

There are bound to be more options. Does St. Louis give up Matt Carpenter? Milwaukee try to sell high on Aguilar? Interesting position we're in right now...Smoak is still decent this year, but after years of disappointing he erupted last year and has now fallen back a bit...Must be a dozen realistic options to pursue if the current franchises are willing to talk...But it's going to cost some talent to get them...Can't be crying about that...

Oh yea dont get me wrong, I am open to many options. Smoak is just the name that jumped out to me when looking at the upcoming free agents list. I dont think theyd want to trade for anyone for this kind of situation that has long term control-ability.

We can't replace Judge in a comparable hitter without changing the trajectory of this club for the next several years....I would rather look toward 2019 than give up the talent it would take to get a good to very good player...….
Is Frazier hurt?....if not, play him and see what we have there....quick bat for sure, but can he center the ball enough on ML pitching....Stanton is OK in right or DH...Wade can play LF if needed...hang on until Judge gets back...
This is a better team than they have played the last few weeks....Britton is a nice addition...make the best run we can at the Red Sox, but keep the jewels for 2019 and beyond...

Frazier would be my first choice as well Utah...but he is still having post-concussion symptoms it would seem so cant count on him right now. Im just having a hard time reconciling running Neil Walker or Tyler Wade out there everyday instead of Aaron Judge during what will likely prove to be the most crucial stretch of the season for the Yankees. Im not saying they are totally screwed or anything but if you can make a move for a guy whose contract expires in 2 months then the asking price might be low enough that you make a major upgrade over Walker/Wade in the meantime (while waiting for Judge/Sanchez to return) and also have a great bench/platoon option down the stretch and in playoffs. Another interesting name is Adrian Beltre. Having a bit of a down year in terms of power numbers but an all time elite 3B defender which would be an upgrade over Andujar. Im not a huge fan of Beltre but it could work if the price was very low bc of his downish year.

GOOD NEWS WE Did NOT get Hamels; Bad News is, we got Happ = OH BOY. MY BET IS LOOKING BETTER.
Judge out for at least a month, if not for 6-weeks...SAD!!!
That means everyone else in OUR Line-Up must ALL Step-it-UP, not just some, but a lot.
Will CC still have his Stuff by Sept?
Will Gray be the ONE we saw in his last two starts or will he go backwards again?
Etc. Etc. Etc....
My bet is looking real good at this point. And even better once Happ gets ROCKED.

Finally a moment presents itself where he could actually get a legit shot at proving himself with this Judge injury and he is out with concussion symptoms. I hope he is back for the Boston series and comes up with a couple huge hits.
