I thought about that as well. I can remember a couple of people that worked for me in the Greenhouse trade that I had to handle in a particular way to obtain optimum results. They were people the owners originally wanted to let go and I was able to make them highly productive by semi-specializing what they did. When that was done, they absolutely became extremely loyal and performed the specific tasks I assigned them to much better than anyone else on the staff could. I used to piss those owners off with the way I could turn people around. They were used to disposable people that they treated like crap (me as well, at times) because they didn’t have people skills... One would think greenhouse people to have sunny dispositions, have it made in the shade, and embrace growth. That kind of stereotyping is fueled by fossilized thinking.

One would think greenhouse people to have sunny dispositions, have it made in the shade, and embrace growth. They faked a lot of that, but once you saw beneath the skin, they were ugly people. They really drug what they called “religion” through the mud for me. But the damage they did to me is now way in my rearview mirror. It took some time to heal, but heal I have. Therefore, I’ve simply added those experiences to my quiver of talents and knowledge. Forgive. Forgive, but never forget. Don’t hate, but never forget. Those are mottos that I live by frequently and have brought me much serenity...

Before I read this: One thing every team needs to do in the second half is... WIN! Do I get the prize?...

My guess is we will make no major moves for a starting pitcher. They will hope severino comes back and can be an ace in the play offs, which has not occurred yet.

I wanted inger to explain why trading Andujar and Frazier, neither of which really have a place on the Yankees, for Morton is a bad idea. Saying they are young and great (even if true) is sort of besides the point if there is no room on the team for them.
Or is it simply that Morton is too old?

Both teams would strengthen where they are weak.

Both teams would strengthen where they are weak. Inter-divisional teams rarely trade with each other, especially if both are in the middle of a pennant chase. And, Tampa Bay has never traded head up with the Yankees in their history.
