Smart move. They’ll have to bonus him to get him to change his mind. Money fixes many things... That is the biggest reason agents tell guys to put teams on their no trade lists. It provides the player with leverage.

But that’s typically because we tend to think without knowing anything more than statistics. We don’t know the personality, the fot with the Yanks. We don’t take the contract into full consideration. There are as many facets to the trades as there are on a typical cut gem... Also because some of the imaginations on the site lead some to suggest purely doofus trades... (:

(: I think its because the only thing the Yankees need is elite pitchers and teams are almost never willing to trade those. I also believe its because Cashman is unwilling to trade what people want for those trades,....

If the Yankees want him, the Giants won't trade him....we have to find a pitcher we don't want, and then we can get him....

I think we are going to need a lot better pitching to have a good chance at the WS. Severino, even if he can pitch, did not shine against Boston in the playoffs and is our only elite pitcher. I had hopes for Paxton and German but that is fading especially for the former.
I think it would be a miracle if we get a significant upgrade there. Maybe a good relief pitcher.

The Yankees are fifth in runs scored in MLB, and seventh in ERA. Not bad balance at all. Jockeying with the Dodgers for best record in baseball. That seems pretty good to me. Every year I read this BS that we aren’t built for the post season. We can win 100, but we can’t win 11? Poor math. Poor logic. Live with what we have. All that matters is who’s hot and who’s healthy at the end... and who gets the bounces...
