Would depend on which prospects, but I get the feeling that more than one of the three would have stung badly. Go to Hell other GMs. We’ll grow our own... that request is just flat out stupid....Frazier is going to be a star.....demanding seriously more from the Yankees is insulting...…. [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/LCHMyIvHrvzkboOMCxQE.gif" alt=" " class="smile"] According to rumors, one of those prospects the D-Backs wanted was Clark Schmidt, who is a highly regarded young pitcher.

If Stanton doesn’t come off the IL for a mere six games, Frazier might have stayed up, continued to rake, not had all the emotional travail, and played passable defense. We might have gotten just about any starter for him. He is still tied for seventh on the team in homers (11) and eighth (34) in RBI. He might have 22 and 70 right now.

Tick tick tick tick tick.....
Doesn't look like anything is going to get done. Frustrating.

Supposedly Shane Greene was another Yankee target. Maybe some monster surprise in the next ten minutes.

Aaaaaaand..... that's a wrap.
If no more trades come out, at least the Red Sox and Astros didn't noticeably improve their pitching.

The lack of quality starting pitching makes me wonder if we were in on trying to get Verlander or Scherzer in the past. I would've overpaid in prospects for those two players. We might have another World Series or two with them. It seems like the opportunities to get an ace are far and few between.

I don't think Cashman is that interested in mid-season changes and feels the loss of talent in these trades is too much. I would have been stunned if they made a major deal. I was hoping for a relief pitcher (although not much).
We are behind today again because we have to rely too often on a bad reliever.

I don't know the details of the penalties for FA signings as it may apply to the negative impact on the signing club....I know many of you do......My question:
Other teams seem to want to rape us in trades....why have the Yankees not been more aggressive over the last few years in out-bidding other clubs for elite starters?...there must be penalties involved that keep the Yankees from doing that...thanks for any insight into what seems to me to be a viable strategy...

And this bombshell! They couldn't have made this trade three hours ago?

Cashman decided not to give up elite talent. Without that he was not going to deal with the problems we face. Houston did.
