Show of hands - who had the Yanks approaching 20 over .500 before Memorial Day weekend with no Gerrit Cole. Oh, just me?

Game 2 is tomrrow, and again, the Padres appear to have somewhat better of the pitching matchup... Marcus Stroman for the Yanks. He pitched his best game of the season last time, 7 1/3 of 1 run ball against the Mariners, but the bullpen blew it in the 9th. He's 3-2 on the season with a 3.05 ERA. Dylan Cease for the Padres, he's come back from a poor season last year with an excellent start of the season for San Diego. Cease is 5-3 in 10 starts with a 3.05 ERA, 5th in the NL in wins, 1st in fewest hits per 9 innings, first in K's per 9 innings, 5th in WHIP. We'll see if this lineup can hit his power stuff.
OK, gonna check notifcations now.

Berti.. Sinker inside, ball 1 Sinker inside, ball 2 Fb near the corner away, taken, 2-1 Sinker outer 3rd, taken, 2-2 FB outside, waist high, tapped Arraez, and Berti crumples to the ground halfway from home as Arraez takes it to the bag for the 2nd out. Trainer and Boone out there, and Berti hasn't gotten up yet. Looks like DJ is coming off the DL right on time. A shame for Berti, he's a valuable bench guy. Just when berti was starting to look a little better hopefully we get good dj Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gomez cannot get much better than that! Strikes out the side in the bottom of the ninth! The kid has 7 strikeouts in just 3 MLB innings.

Played on a softball team once that wore white shorts, fucshia and turquoise shirts. I'm having flashbacks.
Do you have pictures?
not of those ones

I dont know if Rodon pitching like this is sustainable ... His strikeouts are way down He's now a crafty Lefty like Nester.

If he starts walking guys, that will come back to haunt him against better lineups. Who knows for sure? Right now, I'm looking at it as Rodon is making adjustments like so many other pitchers before him did. To each their own, but as far as I'm considered an out is an out no matter a pitcher gets them.
