For a young guy with such great weapons Gil is quite stoic on the mound…

Gil provides a free base on four pitches, then induces the double play to end the inning. This guy has to be mentioned with Soto and Judge as the most valuable Yankees this season.

FB at the knees, outside 3rd at 96, taken for strike 1. Vazquez gets a slider in a bad location, just inside middle, but he's on top of it (maybe trying to adjust to a FB that would rise and not sink a couple of inches?) rolls it over to DJ at 3rd, and he starts a very easy 5-4-3 DP to end the inning. Bottom 5, 3-0 Yanks. The DP turns a potential long inning into a short one, just 11 pitches and 75 through 5 for Gil
How often do we see the man who starts an easy DP lead off the next inning? About one time in nine would be my guess... DJ, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto to get their 3rd look at Ober.

Has anyone said, "It's Ober, Johnny! Ober!" Clarence has clearance, rizz. Give victor a vector on that.

Rizzo’s home! Welcome Rizz. I did what I could with the nicknames while we waited for you… Thanks for the welcome, Inger. Actually, I have been home all day, decided to work from home today. Ended up sleeping until after 1:00 PM. I've been cranky all day for some reason. But, I am just tuning in. I was cooking supper and paying bills, but I was able to see the replay of Gleyber's home run and the two run double by Judge. Other than that, I haven't been watching the game. Until now. Tough choices must be made. I’ve been “off” today, too. Bed at 3:00OAM. Up at 11:00. Back to bed at 1:00, back up at 3:30. On my arse to watch the game…Not good…

FB 2-3 high, ball 1 Cutter on the outside corner, DJ didn't like the call, but it was correct, 50-50. 1=1 Cutter in the zone low/away, grounded sharply up the middle, but Castro is right there back of 2nd, throws him out, 1 down.

Volpe gets rattled by that strike two call. I don't blame him. Looked outside.

Volpe... Change inside middle, taken for strike 1 Slider high 1-1 Slider 4 inches outside called a strike anyway, bad call again, 0%, 1-2 And so he chases the slider bounced outside for the K, 2 down.

Before signing with the Yankees and getting to see him everyday, I had no idea that Soto was so good-natured and affable. If anyone is having fun playing baseball, it's Juan Soto. That has to be contagious in a clubhouse.

Soto... FB down the middle, taken, 0-1 Cutter inside corner, fouled, 0-2 FB well high, taken, 1-2 Slider misses the low inside corner, 2-2 Pitchcomp problem, Ober needs another one. The reason why they don't like to not use pitchcoump, is that finger signals give the other team the chance to steal them. Change misses well outside at the top, 3-2 Slider bounced inside, ball 4. Soto on 1st with 2 down for Judge.

Twins should just forfeit and let us get ready for the Dodgers.

Texas isn't the state for that, though, unless you fall into ten pretty significant categories.
