Maciejewski gets into a game for the 1st time in two weeks as Boone finally waves the white flag.

Amazing how often we wall the number nine hitter. We give up a lot of HR's to them too.

Edward Winter"s Col. Flagg? No, I was thinking about the character on M*A*S*H. That IS the character from M*A*S*H. Edward Winter was the name of the actor who played him. Sounds like Edgar Winter, but isn't.

Mead takes a sinker outside, ball 1 Misses a sinker on the corner away, 1-1 Fouls off a change away, 1-2 Chases a sinker out of the zone up and away, K. 1 down.

Sinker well outside at the top, 1-0 Takes another just below the first one, 2-0 Takes a change down the middle, but knee high, 2-1 Change waist high outside, pulled to deep left, flies out for a 2 run HR, 8-0 Rays. Anyone surprised about what happens to a junkballer who hasn't pitched in two weeks?

No matter, you leave him in for at least 50-60 pitches. He's the slag-arm on this roster. Sorry to be mean about it.
DeLuca gets a waist high sinker on the corner away, drives it to pretty deep right, but Judge goes back and hauls it in, 2 down.

It's over. Heading to the concert. Tomorrow is another day and Boone will tell us "it's all right in front of us."

Siri takes a slider almost down the middle, 0-1 A sinker near the low outside corner is lined to Torres who makes a shoe high catch to his left for the 3rd out. Rays tack on 2 more, lead the Yanks 8-0, bottom 7th.
3-4-5 for the Yanks: Judge, Wells and Torres.
Oh, and I forgot Torres, who gets a big hit once or twice a week, but is otherwise nearly invisible.

Maybe Nestor should stop talking and become more consistent on the mound.

🧢 off 🫡🇺🇸
A lady gets honored today. I had to run in from the kitchen do I missed her name. More like already forgot it, though I heard she was a seaman… I’m glad we don’t have to address her as a sea person…

Pardon me, Paulie, but that analyis is both boiler-plate and almost totally irrelevant to their situation the last five weeks and today. Nestor gave up just 1 run in the first three innings. Yanks had men in scoring positionin the first two innings, couldn't do a damn thing against a very capable pitcher. Then the roof caved in. The following problems won't go away until they do: they have multiple hitters in the lineup who are probably finished/so screwed up they can't contribute: DJ, Volpe, Verdugo. They have two pitchers in the rotation who have inadequate stuff/command: Stroman, and Rodon, and other, Cortes, who's hit and miss depending on whether he has command and his good stuff that day. The bullpen has a shaky closer and is short 1 or 2 power arms. This team is 9-18 in 27 games on MERIT, or lack of merit. Not to mention you have your bench filled with Davis and Jones, who have no purpose on the roster, and Narvaez, who apparently can't even be trusted to catch a day game after a night game. This, especially the last thing. Boone wanted to try Wells at cleanup, so Narvaez catches Stroman tomorrow.

BUT, they do have one hit... Rice lead off with a double.. At least he made sure it won't be a no hitter... Bradley might has a 2.44 era, but he is 4-4 for the season. Not exactly Cy Young..

Bradley back out there for the 7th. He's been great for 7 starts, but this is just the 2nd time in that streak he's made it into the 7th.
Judge takes a FB high, 1-0 Fouls off a FB down the middle, 1-1 Takes a splitter outside at the knees, 2-1 A cutter at the knees in the middle, Judge hits a fliner to right center, but DeLuca runs it down, 1 out.
