It's almost like piling on with DJ now, but how can they still be giving him at bats now? I'd prefer just to see Rice stay there and continue to learn how to play at this level. With a left-handed first baseman, Rice likely makes that awkward catch on the bad throw from the pitcher. Put Wells at 1st when Trevino catches.

It's almost like piling on with DJ now, but how can they still be giving him at bats now? Why are we cooling Wells by only giving him sporadic play now when he's been one of our best hitters for a month? Why do we continue to let Holmes blow save opportunities? Why does Boone do a lot of the things he does? A question we've been asking for years...

Jays lead the Reds, 10-3 top 8 in Toronto. O's still up 7-1 on the Mets, top 8 in Flushing. Astros up 4-3 on the Red Sox, top 4 in Houston. Rays and A's at the Coliseum, starting about 25 minutes from now.

Cabrera PH for Peraza in the usual platooning move. Slider on the outer 3rd, taken 0-1 FB high, outer 3rd, 1-1 Fb on the outside corner, fouled, 1-2 Slider at the top outer 3rd, lined hard to left center, Schneemann goes back, and makes an eyewash late dive to backhand it. If he stays up, he catches it on the run. Excellent play, but he made it look harder than it was./

Cleveland has a bullpen I'm really envious of. Which they've needed because their SP has stunk.

Torres takes a slider outside, 1-0 Takes a change outside at the knees, 2-0 Slider above and outside middle, taken, 2-1 Another slider in almost the same spot, but he fouls it back, 2-2 Slider misses low on the outer 3rd, 3-2 Gets a Fb above and outside middle, fouls it back to the right. Sigh. Missed a hittable FB there. Change hangs just high above the inner 3rd, but Torres has to go for it, too close to take, fouls it off. Slider waist high, near the corner away, spoiled. Well, he's making Gaddis work, at least. FB on the corner away, above the waist, spols that one too. 19th pitch of the at bat... Fb in the zone up and away, fouled off again.

Nice AB by Gleyber to walk in front of Soto and Judge.

Change misfired up and in, Torres leans back for ball 4. 1 out walk gets Soto in against Gaddis, and I guess we'll find out how good Gaddis is right here...

Soto has faced Gaddis once, and walked...
