Why are we cooling Wells by only giving him sporadic play now when he's been one of our best hitters for a month? Why do we continue to let Holmes blow save opportunities? Why does Boone do a lot of the things he does? A question we've been asking for years... Austin Wells since June 29: .303/.392/.533/.924 But SUUUUURE, make sure Stanton and DJ keep wasting ABs. Makes sense on some alternate timeline, I'm sure.

Slider misses 2-3 inches inside, above the knees, ball 1. Hangs a slider at the top, inner 3rd, popped to the right side, J. Naylor catches, 2 down.
There may be "something about Gaddis' FB", Paulie, but SOTO POPPED UP A HIGH SLIDER THERE. Sheesh.

Ramirez had Judge played perfectly at third.

6 left on, 0-5 with RISP. Can't do that against a team with a bullpen like this.

Judge... Takes a change on the corner away, 0-1 Takes a slider low/away, 1-1 Slider outside middle, he missed it, waist high, fouled, 1-2 FB about 4-5 inches high, inside middle, taken, 2-2 Slider waist high winds up 5-6 inches outside, Naylor tries to pull it back, but no sale, 3-2. Hangs the slider in the middle, but Judge misses on top, grounder down the 3rd base line finds Ramirez waiting there, behind the bag, fields, throws low, but J. Naylor scoops to end the inning.
Now it's the Guardians turn with Kwan, Rammires and J. Naylor against, presumably, Kahnle, or maybe Weaver for a 2nd inning.
Top 8, 3-3. It's Kahnle for the 8th.

Nice AB by Gleyber to walk in front of Soto and Judge. Hey, Grandpa, what's for supper?

Kwan has never faced Kahnle. Ramirez is 2-6 with a double and 1 K. Naylor is 0-1.

Nice AB by Gleyber to walk in front of Soto and Judge. Hey, Grandpa, what's for supper? Just turkey sandwiches for me recently. Trying to lose weight.
How bout you?

Kwan takes a change that misses just inside, ball 1 Takes a FB well outside, 2-0 Takes another change down and in, 3-0, because the Yanks haven't walked enough Guardians tonight... Get it over FB below middle, taken, 3-1 Change bad location above and outside middle, Kwan misses late and under, gives a loud cry of disgust, popped to short left center, Verdugo calls, comes in and over, catches, 1 down.

Nothing yet. Sadly, I'm out of ice cream or that would be it!

Ramirez takes a change outside, ball 1. Change dives to the outer 3rd above the waist, early and on top, sort of a cue ball grounder to the left side, Cabrera fields, throws him out, 2 down.

Naylor puts on about five extra pounds every year.

Austin Wells since June 29: .303/.392/.533/.924 The were developing an All Star catcher but they benched him based on a 40 at bat sample size against left handed pitching.
