Judges isn't hitting HR's so he steals a run! Yankees took at chance with 2 outs, but it paid off for them 8-0 stealing for Judge this year…

The whole move might have gone down easier if the Yankees named Cortes the closer. It came across as Cortes is expendable. Most fans remember that Stroman could not change his routine to take the Opening Day start. And so Cortes got the ball. And no matter how well he pitched this year, he lost his start. I know a smarter organization could have handled this better. I think this was a unique situation...having Nestor ready not knowing what to expect from Schmidt. Made sense. Whether it made sense or not to us...Nestor did not take kindly to it. In this context I will be the one to say "they are people". Nestor is still annoyed about how he became the Opening Day starter. This is sort of a replay. Now if they had gone to him and said they needed him to close..I think they would have gone down differently.

I understand Nestor's position, and don't think any less of him for making it known, just as I didn't think any less of Gleyber after his response to being asked about moving positions.

There is no loyalty...teams will cut them loose in a heartbeat. Nestor is 30 yo, and believes his best shot at a long career is as a starter.

I almost got to 8 figures one year in propane, but I fell about 3,500.00 short. Where in the hell did all that money go? …

I also think any starting pitcher would be upset if they were removed from the rotation. It's just human nature. don't blame him. he's been a good soldier who's pitched very well at times. think they're going 6-man this time through the rotation but w off days, probably will return to the 5-man the final 2 weeks w nestor moving to the pen. i'd take nestor starting over stroman but unfortunately nestor has proven he can work out of the pen while stroman hasn't and isn't well suited for it.
see cole, gil, rodon and schmidt as the PS rotation w nestor working out of the pen. not sure where that leaves stroman.
moving ahead we're stuck w stroman and his $18.5 mil salary potentially for the next 2 seasons. nestor's making just under $4 mil and this is his arbitration season and while i'd expect him to get a raise, he'll be a lot cheaper than stroman. i'd try to trade stroman in the off-season to free up salary but that probably mean eating some of his salary.
