Assad doesn't give up a lot of runs but he also doesn't go deep into games either, so we'll see the pens get to work for both these teams.

Throw over on Torres.
Tries the Maddux sinker tailing to the inside corner, it was about 3 inches inside, 0% on Gameday, and Assad and Bethancourt react like it's strike 3, but they have no case. Clearly missed inside. 1st and 2nd, nobody out for Judge.

Judge chases a cutter outside, fouled, 0-1
Chases another outside, swings inside, 0-2
Sinker misses outside by 4-5 inches, Judge takes, crowd groans but it's not close, clearly a ball on Gameday, 1-2
Bounces a slider outside, it gets past Bethancourt for a wild pitch, 2nd and 3rd now.
Sinker outer 3rd, and Judge opens up early fouling a pitch he should crush to right or center
Slider breaks sharply outside, and Judge opens up on it, misses it for the K, 1 down.

Sinker starts middle, tails to the outer 3rd, waist high, Wells misses it, 2-1
Cutter near middle, grounded to Hoerner, he fields and throws out Wells, Torres scores, Soto to 3rd with 2 down, 1-0 Yanks!

Second and third with no outs and the middle of lineup and only scoring one run is a disappointment.

Cutter below and outside middle, hit very hard at 113.4, but the sink on the cutter made him top it instead of lining it, it goes right to Hoerner shading toward 2nd, throws him out, inning over.
Bottom 1, 1-0 Yanks.
20 pitches in the 1st for Assad.
